My problem lies with quality and accuracy of the play by play and color commentary. So much of it is just wrong. You'd think these people who claim to be professionals would study the game enough to be able to comment on or diagram a play as good if not better than most bloggers or most of us.

Blsckledge is pretty good, Spielman too

    • Spielman is really good. Wish he'd do more. I'm also a fan of Kevin Kugler.

      • Blackledge is underrated.

On the flipside, a head injury would stand to improve Gary Danielson's performance. I was very happy to see him move off to do SEC games, so I didn't have to suffer his schtick anymore.

        • I was a Ron Franklin fan. He got the B games on espn, but was one of the best, imo.

          • agree on Blackledge.

The guy doing the Nebraska game on Saturday was well informed, but seemed to want to talk his way into making the game into something he predetermined rather than let the game speak for itself. He never shut up and every commercial break had him coming back to some tired intro that seemed to have little to do with what was going on.. especially in the 2nd half.

            • not a fan of the grieseball...

I'd also say ESPN's sideline reporting is less meaningful than ever.

That is why I find them all insufferable. They talk on and on and over the game. If these bozos sat behind me at a game and went on like they do in the booth I would turn around and tell them to shut the fuck up.

I think it was Jon Lovitz in disguise.

                    • That may be true but I'll have you know Tommy Heinsohn was actually biased towards the Celtics when he was on the national broadcasts. This is an inalienable truth.

                      • The App State/Tenn broadcast was pretty funny. I understand it was the SEC Network and I like Bret Musburger, but I thought Jesse Palmer was going to cry a few times in the first half...

                          • Penn State & James Franklin are even worse than I thought, down 28-7 to Pitt early in the 2nd quarter.

                            • Penn State made it a game... should have at least tied it.
McSorley threw a terrible forced INT to end it.

                              Great game.

James Franklin won't be long for that place.
