        • You SHOULD be sorry. Nobody here likes your routine. We just all have to cope with it because your boyfriend thinks you're really nice in person.

With the Bears, they were "his former team", .. and he "loved Ditka and the fans", ... and "the Bears were going to offer him 40 Gabillion dollars a year" ... etc ... etc..
Same with Oakland.... "he used to coach for them" ... "Charles Woodson is there"...."the Davis Family money can make him an offer he can't refuse" ... etc... etc...
Now, with Indy .. "he can't wait to coach Andrew Luck again" ... "he wants to win a Super Bowl'..... "they're going to offer him 60 Gabillion dollars a year" ... etc... etc... etc..
I have a friend (Michigan fan) who is absolutely convinced that the Colts will steal him away at the end of the year. I laughed in his face too ....
"No chance" is too strong for me to accept because it's saying it's a fact that Harbaugh will not leave.
As for the statements Harbaugh has made through the media about wanting to stay in AA. Of course he'll say that. I'm sure Harbaugh is loving his time right now. But Harbaugh really can't say anything else.
Harbaugh isn't Todd Graham, but an example is how Graham once said Pittsburgh is "his dream job." He left a couple months later. Most, if not all, coaches will say that stuff through the media because they have to sell to recruits that they are there long term.
Harbaugh is more of a direct communicator and probably means what he says.
But give it a chance. See what happens when he is offered a really good position (if it happens with Indy). We don't know what will happen because it hasn't. Uncertainty.
Indy is a different job than Chicago or Oakland. A lot of people would say significantly better because you have the player most people would start their franchise with (Andrew Luck).
Chicago is stuck with Jay Cutler and Oakland has it's own several problems.

"Little chance" is a better way to put it. As for a bet, no I don't bet (anymore). So no.
But if someone were to, I'd advice them to do 400/1 odds that Harbaugh will leave Michigan. That seems right.
Nobody should think Harbaugh will leave like your friend is convinced.

            Just, little chance.

              • I agree with Mike.

Harbaugh isn't easily influenced by money and "power". He is a man of his word, and he is actually more concerned with his family, than he is going after some boondoggle in Indianapolis.

Harbaugh's base salary is the same he made at San Francisco. He could have squeezed a lot of money out of Michigan/Hackett. I don't think Hackett would have had any problem convincing Schissell and the Regents that Harbaugh was worthy of being the highest paid coach in college football, if that's what Harbaugh really wanted.

                But, he didn't.

He's still making a buttload of money, thru endorsements, shoe deal, etc., but he did not use that as leverage to come to Ann Arbor.

He just wants to be at Michigan, and have his family living in Ann Arbor.

                He's not leaving.

                No chance.

                • He surely isn't leaving to be a coach for Ryan Grigson. For him to go to the NFL he's going to require a ton of cash and some semblance of control over personnel. That isn't in the cards if the job were to open up. There is only one reason to go to Indy, Andrew Luck, generally that would be the only reason you need. Everything else works against it.

Jeremy Johnson was so over hyped, but yea they aren't playing like their recruiting says they should.

In their defense, they had to replace 11 starters, which includes QB, RB, and 3 starters up front.
Yes, they should just be able to plug in players.... but sometimes youth can do that to a team.

That # might get in the 20s really fast.

                          • Purdue has had some good years but mostly in the remote past. There was the Drew Brees era more recently but I remember the 1950s when Purdue upset the high flying Irish, at least twice if I remember correctly. It was a big deal at the time. They had a QB Froncie Gutman who engineered at least one of these upsets and who later entered the UM medical school, became a member of my medical fraternity, and is now a successful ophthalmologist.

I got to know his brother who joined a group of my frat friends on a canoe trip up in the Canadian wilderness.

Purdue has not always been a pushover. And of course I am biased because 3 of my grandkids are now engineers and are Purdue graduates.

                            • Jack Mollenkopf (an Ohio guy) made Purdue a formidable power in the 50's and 60's. But he retired after 1969 and died not that much longer after that. Purdue has had a few spurts since then but nothing real close except during the Brees years.

I would say that they are about as low now as they've ever been in my memory. Tiller's teams were never a complete joke except maybe his final year when fishing was the main thing on his mind.

                              • I would suggest Tom Herman would be a great choice for Purdue to replace Hazell... BUT:
                                1. Hazell's buyout is too expensive for Purdue to afford.
                                2. Why would Herman take this job?
                                a. If he did and had success, a better school would steal him after a couple of years.

Herman is 3-0 at Houston and has a top 45 recruiting class.
