Not exactly a huge upset but Illinois knocks off Minnesota. Pretty easy to say beforehand that the Goofers were not as good as their record.

Now they're 6-2 and looking at a rough final four games: Iowa, Ohio State, at Nebraska, at Wisconsin.

Toss-Ups

Rutgers (5-4): Games remaining against Indiana and Maryland. They ought to be able to win one or both of those, but they aren't very good.

Penn State (4-4): Games remaining against Indiana, Illinois, and Temple. One would think they could win two of those but their offense has been awful in Big10 play.

Michigan (4-5): Assuming you will not win in Columbus, Michigan MUST beat Northwestern in Evanston and Maryland at home. The Terps are a Jekyll & Hyde sort of team

Illinois (4-5): First of all, they are garbage, but the three teams they have left aren't catching the world on fire either. And they only need to beat two out of three: Iowa, Penn State, and at Northwestern.

Indiana (3-5): They are a serious longshot with their QB situation but they have games left against Penn State, Rutgers, and Purdue. I don't think they have it in them to win all three

Northwestern (3-5): It's been all downhill since they upset Wisconsin. They need an upset of Michigan next week plus beat both Purdue and Illinois. Probably have no shot at Notre Dame.

Likely Out

Purdue (3-6)

Rutgers - I think you can pencil them in now. They should beat Indiana to get them to the magic number.

Penn State - I think they win all three of those remaining game, and be a paper tiger at 7-4 entering the bowl season. They'll get spanked in what-ever bowl they end up in.

Michigan - Defensively, they can handle Northwestern. I'd guess they'll beat NW but lose to Maryland and OlieO. No bowl again.

Illinois - Will not beat Iowa, will lose to Penn State, and it'll be a coin toss vs NW. I'd say no bowl for them.

Northwestern - I think Michigan ends their bowl hopes next week but they'll probably beat both Purdue and Illinois.
