I think Craig from Nebraska sticks for me b/c in that era as I was just becoming a sports fan as a kid. To see that players come from seemingly pretty exotic far-away places was interesting back then.
For the record, I no longer think of Nebraska as exotic.

I once saw a strpper at Rusty's Gentlemens Club in Edmonton, named "Montana". I thought she was exotic.
?I don?t take vacations. I don?t get sick. I don?t observe major holidays. I?m a jackhammer.?
the more I hear about maryland the more I think they will be a drag for a long long time...
...which is one of the reasons that I felt the B1G should have stayed at 12 teams, or at very least should have been more selective in adding eastern teams. Like going after NC or Virginia first if they wanted to strike at the ACC.

Reason: spelin
But how big a push? It leaves me wondering which ACC school was their #1 target, back-up target, 3rd choice, etc.
Or maybe we'll never know. That Washington Post article about Maryland's financial mess has another linked article (a very long read) that goes into great detail how the Maryland domino got toppled.
I don't think the B10 ever got much traction with NC. I think the B10 would've added Virginia (if Virginia was willing) if they had a #16 that was Virginia's equal (or better), say Missouri. Some in the B10 didn't want GT despite Delaney making a strong push for them. GT needed the B10 to land NC to get support for them as more than a few AD's wanted the B10 to remain contiguous...
B10 also 'allegedly' turned down FSU flirting with them...
Outside of the obvious: Texas & ND. The above universities pretty much make up what would be my top expansion targets: Texas, ND, UNC, Virginia, GT, FSU & Missouri.
Hoss and ent have reminded me of some strong opinions of my own about Texas, and ultimately even when it's all about the money, it's never about just one thing. You need to balance the various factors in making any decision. So I'm not in favor of Texas at all. Gimme a share of the profits in exchange for losing the Big Ten to whatever it's going to become, and fine. Otherwise I don't see why the money argument should hold water with fans. We're not going to get any of it.
I think I'm glad, in the end, that UNC isn't going to come cheap. My interest on that end is not destroying another one of college basketball's wonderful rivalries. Duke/UNC is better for the sport as a whole than UNC would be for the Big Ten. We all benefit. IMO these two are surely a package deal and that's that.

I'd be fine with KU... I think Texas and ND would change the BIG in a bad way
Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.
