  • Holy jesus, Iowa going to get run.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

    • Frerentz has pleasantly surprised me in more than a few bowl games. They might hang in that one and Oklahoma looks like a team with some big time mental problems.

      • True.

On the whole, the B10 ended up with about as a favorable slate of games as you could hope for. From M drawing VT to MSU/N drawing SEC East teams to Illinois drawing UCLA.

Iowa and PSU got a tough draw, but on the whole, about as favorable as that crapball conference could hope for. They may even muster 4-6.

        • I don't understand PSU getting a tough draw...

          Iowa did, I agree

          • Rose: Wisconsin (11-2) v Oregon (11-2) - I see Oregon Winning

Sugar: Michigan (10-2) v Virginia Tech (11-2) - Mich should win

Capital One: Nebraska (9-3) v South Carolina (10-2) - I really don't know. does the team that played MSU show up? Or the team that played Mich? I'm going to be hopeful and say Nebraska

Outback: Michigan St (10-3) v Georgia (10-3) - Geogia. MSU is the better team, but they don't show up for bowls

            Insight: Iowa (7-5) v Oklahoma (9-3) - OU in a statement game

Gator: Ohio St (6-6) v Florida (6-6) - Ohio.. heh

            Meineke: Northwestern (6-6) v Texas A@M (6-6) (played in Houston) - A&M

Ticket City: Penn St (9-3) v Houston (12-1) (played in Dallas) - PSU

Little Caesars: Purdue (6-6) v Western Michigan (7-5) (played in Detroit)- Purdue

Kraft: Illinois (6-6) v UCLA (6-7) (played in San Francisco) - UCLA

            • Rose ...... I think Wisky is going to get stomped. When defenses that have the right kinds of Ss and LBs play teams like Oregon who run a no huddle, up tempo spread, they win; when they don't they get crushed. Wisconsin does not have good LBs, Ss OK but, but poor LB play is going to burn them. Kelley will have Leshoure running wild and Oregon's defense can stop Monte Ball and Russel Wilson.

Capital One ...... no clue. If uSC executes, they'll win. Let the clamoring for Bo's resignation begin. Turmoil (among other BIG teams) is always welcome.

Outback .... love this match-up. I would bet MSU gets it's ass handed to it. Nobody from the coaches on down want any part of the lowly Outback. F' em. I have written a personal letter to Mark Richt telling him to get on the referrees early and often to stop the dirty play that will be going on in the pile and anywhere else Narduzzi (at Dantonio's direction) thinks he can get away with it.

Sugar. ..... I think M's defense will play better against Logan Thomas than they did against braxton miller; these two guys are comparable in style and experience. Beamer will test M's DBs early but some lessons were learned against osu/miller and won't be repeated. Clemson gives the M defense a blue print for success (pressure up front) and Mattison's defense with RVB and MM will deliver just that. I actually think VaTech's D is better than the injury ridden osu D was. I like VaTech's DC, Bud Foster but I think he's been eclipsed. He's also been in the running every post season for various vaccant HC positions. He might be again this season.

Insight ...... OU big (providing Stoops can get his player's heads out of their asses - terrible, terrible mentality/chemistry there). Iowa is really not that good. When they have surprised in Bowls, they have been good. They're not.

Gator ..... osu big, real big. Floriduh is baaaaaaad.

Meineke ...... A&M??? No way. Stability (and a good football coach) v. turmoil. Persa plays well and the Widlcats get a win.

Ticket City ...... This is tough one, IMO. Houston has the potential of absolutely bombing PSU. But PSU has the potential of justing playing a good ground game and controlled passing game and holding the ball to win. I think PSU will win as Houston has looked good by playing well against abysmal defenses.

Pizza Bowl: WMU can win this one but they won't.

Kraft: Heh, this one is hilarious. Two head coachless teams who are both terrible. UCLA's OC Mike Johnson will be coaching the Bruins and Illinois' DC Vic Koenning will be the head guy for the Illini. Battle of the inept. Who knows, who cares.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

              • What a screw job for PSU. They get assigned to a shitty bowl game and they draw what will probably be the best opponent that game is ever going to offer.

                • These 6-6 teams don't belong in a bowl, I realize there are too many bowls but Illinois, Purdue, Ohio and company aren't bowl quality teams.

There's an apt analogy in there somewhere. Can't quite put my finger on it...or in it for that matter...

                      • I wouldn't be shocked if Oregon scores 50 points on Wisky. The Badgers have got some big time holes on defense that Oregon is perfectly built to exploit.

                        • I have to agree. Wisconsin's defense looked like a sieve against Moo.

                          • I think A&M will absolutely kill Northwestern. You have to look past the record. They lost a TON of close games to decent teams. 1 point to Okie St. 4 points to Arkansas. 3 points to K-State. 2 points to Texas. 7 points to Missouri. The only team that wasted them was Oklahoma. This is a team that could have easily been 10-2 instead of 6-6. I can't believe Northwestern will stay within 2 TD's of them.

I also suspect MSU will manage to lose because they will be unfocused and undiciplined. I don't think they can get over the pity party they are currently throwing for themselves.
