Ohio State actually has a legitimately good defense. The offense is poop, but it didn’t matter today.
From my POV, osu's defense on the back end is really good, caveat Alar is terrible beyond 10 yards. I thought McCord looked serviceable but he passes the eyeball test heavily aided by MJH who catches everything if thrown anywhere in his arm radius. I was most impressed with his catch rate on contested throws. But, yeah, osu can't run the ball. Multiple trips to the RZ produced one TD. Shocked at the lack of speed to the edge with inside power mostly nullified by PSU's front 7. PSU has a decent, not elite defense. Lacks a consistent organic pass rush. TBH, this was a rock fight. M doesn't need to or want to play that kind of game when they go to HV or when osu comes to town, I wasn't impressed with either PSU or osu. Both solid teams hampered by miscues and penalties in making their way to this year's class of elites.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
It sounds like there’s just Georgia and M in your mind. And that’s right. No one else is really close and I’m not sure Georgia is even in the same league as M.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
I’m also not sure what the sweet spot score is when two “good” teams play such that one of the side of ball isn’t ridiculed. At 20-12, the offense obviously suck. But at 42-41 the defenses suck. Maybe 27-24?
