Game may be "sold out" but "sold out" is like the phony crowd count at UM Stadium--ticket sales are counted not asses in seats. There are still thousands of tickets available for sale on the secondary market. Let's see how many of those Nebraska fans that bought tickets in anticipation that Nebraska would be there actually show up. (Or those delusional OSU fans that bought tickets touted by the OSSU athletic dept. believing Fickel would get them to the promised land)
By my estimation and I'm no Madison apologist Wisky is the Rodney Dangerfield of Big Time College football I really wish they would have crushed that in the Rose and beat the guy that REALLY deserves a shot at NFL Rookie Of The Year but they didn't. They send Lineman after Lineman to the league and to me that tells me how tough you are. I mean losing to MSU Back to back years don't help but Big Ten Road wins are at a premium. They have plenty of wins against the bigs. Wisconsin getting the respect that I feel they deserve would go a LONG way towards helping the Big Ten in the minds of the pollsters. It isn't and doesn't always have to be about ohio and Michigan. (just because it SHOULD BE)
Not sure that the venue makes that much of a difference. If fans aren't packing the stadium in Indianapolis, they wouldn't be packing Lambeau field either. And as I said previously, I think that you are less likely to get neutral fans sit out in the windy cold than in a comfortable dome. Maybe the conference should consider having a team host the game.
I'd rather drive from AA to Lambeau than from AA to Indy. I'd go if it were in Lambeau, sure. That's a stadium you want to see a game in at some point.
Noticed tonight that the Pac 12 does their title game at a home stadium. Dunno exactly how they determine who the home team is--there must be some sort of tie-breaker system.
I have suddenly become quite a fan of that format. You get the same TV audience, but you've got a guaranteed sellout. In the Big Ten, this could also mean that you get an extra 30,000 fans at the game if it's in Ann Arbor or Columbus.

Plus it rewards the better team in case of a rematch. It's fitting if Team A went 7-1 in conference and beat Team B (5-3) by 21 points. Team B should have to win AT Team A.
I'd rather adjust to a frequent match-up; like we have now...where they HAVE already played, and use some sort of tie-breaker to determine home field....than having a neutral site because your scenario MIGHT happen. I think 2 teams both going 7-1 and not meeting would be rare. But I'm just guessing.......
I think I like the home-field format as well. That would be infinitely more interesting than the sterility of the Hoosier Dome or whatever they call it now.
