        • 'Tuck Comin' buyout is too large (75 mil next year), Sharty is stuck (paying him 95 mil per year) and his cigars, watches, dawgs, cowboy hats, chopping for at least 2-3 more years.

If he doesn't get the team over .500 this season, his behind is going to start getting hot. But as you said, who's going to cough up the dough to buy him out?

Gee, maybe the wealthy alum(ni) who advocated giving this guy $95 million should ante up. LOL.

Still, that 95 mil over 10 years roughly translates to $1/year per Michigan resident. I'll gleefully offer up a couple of rolls of pennies each year to see Sparty continuously get beat up - not just by Michigan, but by the rest of the Big Ten as well.

              It's a friggin' bargain!

              • The Rocket Mortgage guy is paying most of the $95M. I wonder who gets to make the decision to fire him in the event his situation becomes untenable.

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Till touch down brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
                  Oh no, no, no
                  I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone

It's kinda nice to have a MAC team in East Lansing. Their fans deserve it..

Damn -- Thorne is a painful loss for them. I think that he's really good. Would be great on a team with a good OL.

                    • Let's not kick dirt on the guy just yet. I'd love to see him go 4-8 for a few years but I'm not going to expect it.

                      • BTW if Thorne and Coleman are making a simple NIL move, then that's a stark illustration of why the unrestricted transferring needs to end.

                        • Lost in Sparty's bloody Sunday - CB Charles Brantley entered the transfer portal. He started 11 games for the Spartans last season, posting 48 tackles and a team-best 6 pass breakups.

                            • Paying a guy $95 million to avoid being considered 'racist" sounds kind of racist itself. It also sounds a bit like extortion.
