Apparently I'm not living clean. Lost some close ones last week. 3-2 in conference and 1-2 in wildcards brings the season slate to 28-27-1 and 13-7. So, you know, meh.
Iowa (+30) at Ohio State. This line keeps going up. I'm not exactly sure why, but here we are. So, let's talk the easy stuff first -- Iowa's offense, as we've noted all year, is historically putrid. Ohio State's defense, while not particular great, is consistently flirting with competence. That should be enough to keep Iowa at 10-14. On the other side of the ball, Iowa has given up more than 10 one time, and that was 27 to HARBAUGH!!!!'s elite offense. And consider that the defense is consistently dealing with an offense that is hellbent on screwing them over. Ohio State was significantly slowed down by Notre Dame, and even Rutgers managed to frustrate them a bit. I expect Iowa to make the game a giant annoyance. Yeah, Ohio State will win. They'll get to 24 or something and that's enough. But it won't be a fun game. I'll say 27-10.
Rutgers (-3) vs Indiana. JFA. I've pretty consistently said IU is awful, and I'm going to stick by it. I think they're the worst team in the East. So, I expect Rutgers to win and I hope it's by more than a FG. Actually my biggest hope is that I catch not one second of this rectal examine of a game, either live or through "highlights".
Maryland (-14) vs nFw. I don't know if little Tua is gonna play. I don't care. nFw is horrific. Maryland should score 27 or more, and that should be plenty to cover.
Purdue (+2') at Wisconsin. This is one of them weird lines. It's actually moved from +1 to +2'. I dunno. I think Purdue is pretty solid. They seem to have found a running game and they can still pass. And they play enough defense to stifle Graham Mertz, as do half of high schools in North Dakota. So, yeah, I think Purdue wins this outright by at least 10.
Minnesota (+5') at Penn State. It's not particularly clear if either QB will start in this game. My feeling is that Minnesota's running game is the only thing amongst these two teams of note. Everything else is sort of meh. I'll ride with the Goofers to hang around keep the game within 3 one way or the other.
BYE: M, Sparty, Illinois, Nebraska.
Oklahoma State (+6) vs Texas. Gonna keep riding with Gundy getting disrespected.
Mississippi (+1') at Louisiana State. Big line move from Ole Miss to LSU. Guess that makes me a sucker, but I'm comfortable with that.
Marshall (+12') at James Madison. This is a terrible week of games. All of y'use can go fuck yourselves.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Purdue vs Wisconsin is a nervous one for me. Wisconsin comes across as the boogey man in this series… winning 15 straight games vs Purdue since 2003. Usually the outcomes aren’t close because they typically dominate in the trenches. Big hurdle for Purdue to surpass, but Boilers win 24-17. Trust in O’Connell.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

oh dear lord ... save us from such sandbaggery ...
You have no faith in CRD. He saw that M scored 27 points against Iowa and he WILL NOT allow his team to score less against Iowa than M did. Yes, I believe he looks at stuff like that.
If CRD gets the chance, he'll double that on Iowa.
