  • I think Tucker will be coaching on Sundays before too long. That's what every coach should be striving for.

    • James Franklin at PSU (65 wins - 30 losses) 68.4%
      Jim Harbaugh at M (56 wins-22 losses) 71.7%

It's really close, both are coaches who win 10 games a season but could have a down season and both have a Buckeye problem in conference.

      • Franklin has a BTT, Harbaugh doesn't.

        • If USC or LSU have interest in hiring Franklin, I'm 90% sure that Franklin is gone after this season. Franklin's stock could stumble a little with their current trajectory. Especially after the Buckeyes embarrass them tomorrow. USC/ LSU probably want to aim for a better coach. Hiring Franklin would be like settling for a "B" tier coach like Dan Mullen to Florida. Not bad, but it won't start a dynasty to live up to death-star program expectations.

Interested to see Clifford tomorrow night. If Clifford isn't 100% healthy or suffers another injury... I might feel confident in M beating Penn State.
Penn State's backup QB is TRASH. Awful vs Iowa.

In a season we beat them 49-10.

            • Frames is over rated. He rose to apparent success on a couple of good recruits and Moorehead's shirt tails. TBH, he is a 2nd tier coach all things considered. I doubt he goes to either LSU or USC because, well, he's not that good and those programs may interview him just to say they did but he isn't getting hired at either of those plumb jobs. Both can do better.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

              • Tucker may go to the top of both USC's and LSU's shopping list if he beats M tomorrow.

                • Yup. Mel Tucker will be the hottest name in college football if so, if not already. Big blow to Harbaugh if Tucker’s record goes to 2-0 vs M… especially considering Tucker took over MSU as COVID hit.
Dan Gilbert, presented by Rocket Mortgage, better be ready to open up his big donor pockets even more to hold off LSU.

The idea of James Franklin to USC… highly doubt it’d turn out like the Pete Carroll days. Still think he’d have success.
I can’t think of a better example than Dan Mullen at Florida… that’s the comparison!

                  • It's less about Dan Gilbert and more about Matt Ishbia.

                    • The job at USC is always better in theory than it turns out to be, they haven't exactly able to pull in great coaches. The best coach they pulled was Carroll and he was looked upon like a joke hire at the time.

                      • I hope that Franklin stays at PSU. He does have a B1G championship but it could be much worse for us. PSU could be a perennial Top 10 team with a great hire. The longer that hire stays away, the better.

Tucker can name his job after this year. Even if he loses to Michigan today.

                        • Watching the Iowa-Wisky game. The color commentator mentioned that both teams are great at running the ball. So I looked up Iowa’s run stats:

                          117 ypg rushing
                          3.1 ypc

Just to give you some perspective Michigan’s 2013 team had one of the worst OL and RB sets of all time and that team was better in both stats.

                          • Iowa isn’t very good. I still laugh at them being #2 a couple weeks ago.

                            • Big Ten West.
Appears like Minnesota or Wisconsin will win the division. Those two teams have a big game during the last week of the regular season that could determine the division winner.

                              Big Ten East.
Still a cluster f*** of teams at the top. MSU and OSU control their own destiny, but both teams play enough tough games to make it interesting. M has a shot if MSU loses to Purdue or Penn State. Highly unlikely because M probably needs to win out, but still alive technically.

                              MSU vs Purdue.
Congrats to Sparty. I hope the Playoff committee gives them credit in the first Playoff ranking on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, MSU is heading into the definition of trap game. MSU coming off the high of their season going on the road vs a giantkiller football program. MSU deserves to be favored, but anything can happen. Purdue's passing offense is very volatile. With how MSU's pass defense looks, maybe Aidan O'Connell and David Bell have a strong game. Purdue's defense is usually a dumpster dating back to the mid-2000s, but this season it's solid. Karlaftis continues to impress.
2018, Purdue knocked off Ohio State in the game of their season. The following week, they went to East Lansing and looked completely flat vs MSU.
I picked M over MSU last week, so I'll give MSU some love this week. MSU 26, Purdue 24. Close, stressful game either way. Kenneth Walker is too elite.
