IMO no good team should ever go for 2 rather than play for OT. The only teams that should do that are big underdogs who would rather roll the dice on one play because they don't think they can play toe-to-toe in OT.

See, I take a very different view of this. I get the traditional argument-- going strictly by the math, the odds dictate you play for overtime. I think two-point conversions are successful about 42% of the time. But I suspect road teams win overtime games at about the same clip. Overtime in college football can be a very dicey proposition-- no matter how good you are, one fluky play can kill you. To me, if you've got some momentum and a play you like for the situation, you're at least as well off taking the shot to win it in regulation.
