Ohio State's run is over. As Talent says, their fan base consists of a bunch of idiots. And as Froot says, the Spartans have zero chance due to a generally inferior program.

Really? Don't get me wrong; he was a hell of a coach. I think Meyer is better. But the discussion about Meyer's future sure seems to be one worth having. This kind of looks like a cycle about to repeat itself. Talent's shared enough about Meyer's drive, and the physical toll it takes on him. As a game manager Tressel was better. Meyer is OK and he is probably a better program manager but Tressel isn't getting clowned by Pitt or Iowa in my opinion.Originally posted by hack View PostComment

Yeah, for basically his 8 good teams (out of 10), Tressel only lost one game he absolutely should have won, and that was @Purdue in 2008. The only other game that might qualify is the loss to Illinois and Juice Williams at home, but they were 9-4. In his '8 good seasons" the records of teams that beat him:

He got boat raced by the stupid good 2008 USC and, of course, UFM's Florida team. But his teams would have never got smoked by Purdue or Iowa. That said, he wasn't as good in the "big games" as UFM. I think both are direct products of their approaches. Tressel was very conservative with his offense AND his defense. The latter was definitely a "make you drive the field" approach that generally kills lesser offensive talent. UFM is high pressure on offense and defense. He has three inexplicable losses at OSU.
After losing to Sparty in 2015, he rebounded with a nice win in the House of HARBAUGH!!!!!
After losing to Iowa last year, OSU rebounded with a decent showing against Sparty.
