AA, I don't have a good answer for you. The Jumpman logo doesn't belong in football. The way jerseys stretch anyways on some guys it looks more like a ballerina doing the splits. But, is what it is. If the alternates never get worse than this, and if it's limited to road games, and ideally even non-playoff neutral-site games, then whatever.

I'm a hard and fast traditionalist with storied, historic teams. UNLV? Sure. Upper Middle Northern Tennessee or whatever? Sure. Knock yourself out.

Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU, USC, Penn State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Notre Dame? No. Stop. Don't.

Every year there are some young Bama fans who want Bama to use crimson pants with a crimson shirt and some metalic crimson helmet with a stylized elephant or crimson tide logo on it. I don't mind alternate jerseys, but in the case of Michigan you might want to stick to tradition. Michigan alternate jerseys are generally an assault on the eyes.

That never stopped me from whining. Besides, it's the old dudes that are the plank holders. You want metallic helmets and cammo unis? Just give in to those that think tradition isn't something worth preserving..... any kind of tradition.

I don't mean to launch into a full-blown philosophical debate about this and I respect your position CGVT, but Michigan and particularly M football are a huge part of forming who I have become.

It too easy to say, no big deal when the foot gets in the door and changes start to take place. Usually, once they do, it's hard to stop the avalanche of change that ensues.

I'm not against change. Stop changing, adapting, you die. Some of it may be good but, in this particular case, it's not. Michigan, Michigan football and the associated symbols (the block M, maize and blue) stand for something beyond ourselves, more important than well, the kids like cammos and metallic helmets so lets do it or worse we can make money on this. M already has used or currently does use a mild amount of metallic flakes in it's maize wings on their helmets. You have to see the authentic helmets up close but the metallic flakes are in them.
