Tom Allen named new IU head coach. He was a good defensive coordinator for IU.
I remember reading IU was ranked in the mid 50s for 5-year recruiting. If Tom Allen let's that recruiting slip to the 60s/ 70s, that is how you become Purdue bad... if Allen makes it that long.
5-2 last week. 49-34-2 for the season. After some serious ebbs and flows in the first four weeks, I rallied to go 33-19-1. Of course, the bulk of that good was in a two-week 11-1 stretch, but whatever. STFU.
Penn State (+3) vs. Wisconsin. I don't have a particularly strong feeling about this one. I think Wisconsin will win the LoS on both sides of the ball, though I don't think it will be decidedly so. I think Penn State has a huge "playmaker" advantage and in a game like this, one big play could win it. I like the way McSorely is playing. Barkley is really good. And PSU has a good set of WRs. I don't trust Houston (or Hornibrook). I do like Clement and Peavy and others, but I don't see them as a big play offense (though, they were against OSU). I think Wisky will probably more effectively grind out first downs, but I think PSU gets enough from their playmakers to win outright. Fortunately, I can back PSU and get a FG and that's what I'll do. Penn State to cover the +3 and The Talent to finish 50-34-2 for his pre-bowl picks. Eat it, Oracle!!!!!

Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
Well, they've flunked nearly every test away from Happy Valley. They lost to Pitt. They were reamed by M. Fortunately, Indiana, Purdue and Rutgers were their other road games, and they barely survived IU.
Wisconsin, IMO, is far more battle-tested. I think the run of play will favor them, but like I said, I like PSU's ability to get a few big plays and I think that may be all they need.
