    • Thank God.

      • Now Penn State is the second school to say ‘no’ to this idea.

        • Only teams like Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, Illinois, Maryland, Rutgers and Michigan State should have any interest in this.

          • Harbaugh has long been against CFB on Friday nights because it draws attention away from and interferes with High School ball games.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

            • Better a friday night game than an 11:00am one IMO.

              • Yea unless the game is on a 3 day weekend, this will make Purdue look more embarrassing. Nobody is coming to West Lafayette on a Friday night to see them play. A lot of the current attendance comes from families.... that perfect Saturday morning friendly tailgate crowd.

                22,000 person attendance at best.

                • The loss of gameday revenue would be a legit concern, but IDK if Purdue has cause to worry about embarrassment. I think if you told the average fan around the country that Purdue had 22,000 show up for games scheduled even at ideal times, they'd be rather surprised.

Regardless, it sounds like this was a condition of the fat ESPN contract so its an opportunity for the marginal-draw schools to tote some water.

                  • Dantonio's fine in my book. He's an asshole and he hates us, and that's fine. As long as he sticks around and we can keep beating his cranky ass and get to see him looking like that on the sideline, its all good. He can talk all he wants. Keep doing it, please.

                    • Dantonio hates to lose. We all do. Some of us are better suited to remain stoic or calm when then things go awry. Some are not. I don't have a value judgment either way. Two of my favorite coaches were/are polar opposites.

Here's Coach Bryant after losing to his ex-player, Gene Stallings:

You rarely saw Bryant mad on the sidelines. He hated to lose, he just didn't show his emotions in the sideline too often.

Here's Coach Saban up 20 on his former assistant, Derrick Dooley:

As far as Dantonio being barely able to control his seething hatred of M is fine. Just as y'all hating him is fine, too. The thing is, as fans, we give our guy the benefit of the doubt and verbally bludgeon the rival coaches and players. That's pretty normal, too. I think we humans are hardwired to hate our rivals. I mean, if this were the upper paleolithic and Talent and his tribe were trying to take my tribe's fresh kill, well, yeah, I am not going to be happy. In fact, just thinking about it, makes me want to chuck a spear in his direction. That thieving bastard!

Not only would we have taken your fresh killed, you would have cooked it up for us just the way we like and served it to us on your finest rock plates.
