Indeed. He managed to catch the interest of JH and parlay that offer into a big raise.
The book is still out on whether 2nd tier Ohio players are the answer in the SEC. I do think a lot of those kids would do well at schools like Purdue, Illinois, etc.
The notion that UK isn't scared of M, ND or MSU is a bit silly. It's still UK.

So their Ohio kids have been dropping like flies this year. Looking at last year's class and this year's class, the following kids are definitely worth taking: CJ Conrad, Darius West, Thad Snodgrass, Nick Richardson and Mikel Horton.
They've lost 3 in the past week.
Anyway, my guess is UK's return on investment is better with 2nd tier Ohio kids than it is with 3rd tier Southeast kids. There are still plenty of SEC schools pushing for the Southeast kids while UK pretty much has Ohio all to itself vis-a-vis the SEC.
I'm not really sold on UK. I'd be surprised if they're ever upper division in the East. Tennessee is far more likely to make a run at Georgia. Of course, if Florida decides offense is a useful concept, they should be up there, too. And, finally, there's always Mizzou -- back-to-back SEC East champs. Goodness.

I don't think success at Michigan this year will be measured in wins and losses.
What Michigan needs more than anything, is to become a fundamentally sound football team again.
We also need to see a Michigan team that improves week to week. By time Ohio comes rolling into town, the team should be peaking. That's what Schembechler aimed for, and I think that's what Harbaugh will do as well. You save the best for last.
Like anyone, I'd love to see Michigan at the end of the year sitting on a 10+ win record, but I don't think that's the most important thing. We need a return of Michigan football more than anything.
