I see no reason to surrender to them.
They are who they are, and we are who we are.
They've had a good run under Dantonio, and some good players to go along with it.
But they're still Michigan State.
They don't want our respect, and they've made that clear."in order to lead America you must love America"

"First, no court in the land would uphold a contract that absolutely limited an employee's freedom to move. They have, in fact, repeatedly ruled against onerous provisions of employment contracts intended to limit choice. End of that wishful thinking."
Actually Courts routinely enforce "no compete" clauses in employment contracts all the time

Michigan State has wanted a seat at the big boy's table in CFB for a long time.
They now have that seat.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

MSU had a great year and can, IMO, play with anyone. Dantonio has done a great job of developing that program.
MSU, however, is not an elite program. They may get there, but 1 BCS bowl win and 1 outright conference title in the past, well, 25 years, doesn't get you there. That's TCU territory.Last edited by iam416; January 2, 2014, 09:49 AM.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

I'm also rather suprised by the B10's showing. I mean, 2-4 is nothing to write home about. I'm still trying to figure out how the Goofers gave away the game against Syracuse. Well, not really. But the B10 plays 2 top 10 and 5 top 25 teams (per AP). The SEC faces a similar schedule. That is to be expected since those are the elite brand name conferences. And against that schedule, the B10 has been fine -- certainly not out of its depth.
However, much has been made about the mighty P12. Indeed, much was said about how hard Stanford's schedule was as compared to Michigan State's. Yet, level of competition isn't a consideration, apparently, when it comes to bowls. The P12 plays a preposterously easy slate of teams (2 top 25 teams including Fresno!). Texas and Texas Tech are just bad. Virginia Tech and BC are total poop. Boise and CSU are dogshit. But that won't get in the way of trumpeting P12's 6-3 bowl record.
B10 Opponents: #5, #9, #12, #16, #22.
SEC Opponents: #1, #11, #13, #19, #24.
P12 Opponents: #4, #20.
Meanwhile, SEC still has a chance to go undefeated against top 25 teams.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

If that is the case, losing to a higher ranked SEC team and saying "Well, they were higher ranked, what did you expect?" is not a valid excuse.
You can't have it both ways. If they are over rated/over ranked, then your lower ranked teams should win some games against them.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

The rallying cry of many Big Ten fans (I am included in this category) is that the SEC is over rated and usually ranked higher than they should be.
