I can't believe that they did that with the schedule, and I also can't believe that it'll be a permanent change. No inside info has been leaked whatsoever on this subject, but it's been speculated for awhile now that, at some point over the next several years, state will be forced to play twice in a row @ The Big House and get the home schedule evened out (in other words, have the schedule revert to state and The ohio playing in Ann Arbor on alternating years).

    • Sparty is going to scream like holly hell about it when the time comes, too. Buncha clowns.

      • Is this really a big deal?

From 1995-2010, 16 seasons, Ohio State did the same thing. Only we had Michigan and Penn State.

        • Not really....

          • It will be a big deal to season ticket holders who only buy tickets to make a profit. One year they'll make a ton of money from OlieO and Sparty fans... The next, they won't be able to GIVE their tickets away ...

            • It's a big deal for season ticket holders who don't sell as well. The home games are really bad in the off years.

              • Lots of chatter on OSU forums about expansion -- again. Texas. I won't get into the "insider" stuff that rates a giant ? on the veracity scale.

However, logically, there are some things in play. First, aTm broke the "united" Texas pact. It's every man for themselves. Second, aTm in the SEC is real threat to UT hegemony. Third, the B12, as it exists, is more or less the SWC before its collapse. There is Texas (maybe Oklahoma) and a bunch of trash ($$$-wise). Fourth, the B10 is by far and away its UT's best option if it leaves the B12. Fifth, there's an open spot if UT comes on-board. That might be enough to get OU in, which would have to seal the deal.

In any event, I said this before, I will say it again, and I will say it until the it's proven wrong -- the B10 will have at least 16 teams when it redoes its TV deal in 2016 (starts in 2017). I absolutely believe that to be the case.

I have no idea who the 2 (or more) will be, but it will be 2.

                  • Well then I look forward to burning their asses on a yearly basis until they turn from orange to rust. Only thing good that ever came outta Texas was Willie Nelson.

                      • From a personal POV, I don't want Texas or Oklahoma in the B1G.

From a competition standpoint, that may actually happen when the new "Super" football division is created.

                          • I am just reading the above, my first question is whether Oklahoma would "qualify" academically for membership in the B1G. I believe I recall reading (when the last couple of rounds of expansion and speculation were going full bore) that Texas would qualify but not the Sooners. Amirite?

                            • Adding those two would definitely be a big upgrade football-wise, as both programs are year-in and year-out top 25 or better.

Then again, F*** Texas! Bastards would be more insufferable than ND, and even worse than ohio is now, if that's possible.

                              • Rob... It is possible. Texas would start dividing a dn conquering. They would not be thinking for the BIG, but rather Texas.
