  • There will be penalties that cost games because the right technique didn't take into consideration the offensive player moving his head.

    • Also... This is a great rule for refs that bet on games.... As pointed out on another board.

      • Terrible rule (as outlined), refs on the field will have a terribly difficult time determining intent not to mention offensive players moving/leading with their helmet. In real-time, that is impossible to officiate.

          • And officials are going to have to determine if a player was lowering his head to protect himself, or was he lowering his head to inflict punishment. Its hard to get into a player's head and figure that out.

            • You've said this before, Linesman. Coaches have to start coaching the kids to keep their heads up instead of using them as weapons. This could help ......

Well, except for coaches who have those ohio roots like Dantonio and Narduzzi who won't change anything they do if it improves their chances of winning a game ..... and knocking out QBs and other skill players by having their defensive players practice launching themselves right at them, head down, will certainly do that.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Where is No Titles from? LOL. Gads of big-time coaches have Ohio roots. Unsurpisingly.

                    • The Detroit Lions and the Big Ten Conference will hold a Wednesday news conference to formally announce a new bowl game to be held at Ford Field starting in 2014.

In May, ESPN reported the Lions were expected to create and operate the new bowl game at Ford Field. The new bowl game would eliminate the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl after this season, sources told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.

In the new bowl, the Big Ten would play an ACC team, sources said. In the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, the Big Ten played a Mid-American team at Ford Field.

Ford Field also is the Lions' home field.

This year is the final year in a four-year deal pairing the eighth selection from the Big Ten against a MAC team. Only three times in the past 11 years has a Big Ten team played in the bowl.

The new Detroit bowl is not expected to get a selection higher than sixth from both the Big Ten and ACC, sources said.

                          • MSU fans didn't even fill the place when they had Florida Atlantic in there a few years back. They probably wouldn't sell out a bowl game either.
