What Dr. Strangelove said. I really like the rivalries with OSU, PSU & MSU, I'd even choose PSU as my 3rd favorite rivalry. Maryland/DC is a nice place to stay for a weekend and its too bad the family I had near DC (PSU fans actually from PA) moved away very recently...

Media coverage in Maryland/DC and Jersey/NYC, along with annual bouts against rivals Ohio & Pennsylvania are a boon. Leaves M shutout of Chicago and could hurt recruiting in Illinois and Chicago. Rutgers athletic department isn't of B10 quality but its facilities and athletics are trending up with its recent success in football. Hopefully the move to the B10 results in them investing their new B10 money in itself...

I didn't feel much connection with rivalries against Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Purdue, NW. Nebraska would've been a nice rivalry to build and I liked the Illini rivalry but probably only because I have family from Illinois who I could talk smack too.

I think really argues for the Big Ten basketball tourney to be held in Chicago on a consistent basis.

Might be a nice bowl for Urban to shoot for---where in the "pecking order" behind the NC game/Rose Bowl does it fit in?

I doubt spartie will be able to reach such heights, though, unless that game is the reward for the 5th-best or lower B1G team

It's a bowl that Indiana, Minnesota, etc. will strive for unless the payment goes up significantly.

It's believed the B10 might dump one of the Florida (vs SEC) bowls for one vs the Pac 12. Just a guess but replacing the Gator for the Holiday Bowl. Also rumored the Pac 12 and B10 would create their own bowl, potentially in SF's new stadium.

Don't think there's any chance of that anymore. We're going to a 9-game conf schedule and there was too much resistance from certain Pac12 teams

The Pac 12 teams with ties to ND (USC, Cal, Stanford and even UW) would've needed to have given up that game or a conference game.
