Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

You mean for the regular-season title of the Laurels Division?

    • Finally, in a non-expansion note, Bielema was running from Wisconsin as much as he was running toward Arkansas. He was told he should look at other options cause his days at UW might be numbered.

What is the basis (and/or evidence) for the above?

      • B10 and SEC are at war, not on the field but for markets to monetize their valuable assets: football. SEC is backed by ESPN, the B10 has Fox/BTN...

B10 and SEC are grabbing up major universities to grab as much market share as possible. These conferences are being run as much by the live TV sports providers as the conference commissioners. In this race for TV viewers & carriage fees, it doesn't help to 'double-up' in the same state; we won't see the B10 add Pitt...

After this is done, the new ACC might resemble the lesser half of the ACC and the Big East circa 2004 while the Big East will resemble the old C-USA.

Which is why I'm not sure what the SEC's rationale is for being smaller, if indeed that's the case. Surely there could be one but I just don't know it.

Uh..gee. how about the smaller number in the top conference means each team gets a bigger part of the pie, and adding douchebag teams does nothing to enhance the product other than water it down. Business 101 "You don't know Jack, Hack"!

or how about as they stand they are presently the biggest conference as the Big 10 (14) doesn't expand for two more years and the SEC will have the pick of whomever they want because of the ginormous money to be made. Business 201 "You don't know Jack, hack"

            • so it shakes out something like

              ESPN=SEC
              Fox/BTN = B1G
NBC = ND = New York, Boston and New England
and the Texas network = B12

and who cares about the Pac 12 for the games after midnight

Texas is # 1 in profitability and ND is # 2 in profitability. As of now. The game boils down to content, and to making sure that neither Texas or ND have quality opponents, thus cutting the appeal of their networks.

              I only see 3 superconferences.

              • I can see the Big Ten Four going after Pitt to solidify the base. And to keep the SEC from making an inroad.

                • This is a bit like a late night pot/beer induced game of Risk back on Sauer Court in the mid 70s, now that I think about it.

                            • Unfortunately for him Stan agrees with me a lot more than he'd like to. He just thinks I'm particularly vulnerable to being wound up, which is true. That said, I'm pretty sure we posted that at the same time. Were I a minute earlier, he might not have agreed.
