Interesting read on the ACC's exit fee. Wake Forest law prof sounds pretty convinced Maryland won't pay anything close to the $50 million

I've never really litigated a liquidated damages amount, but man, the $50M sure sounds like a penalty to me. Moreover, the fact that the ACC quickly replaced Maryland and said many kind words about the value of Louisville suggests $50m doesn't come close to accurately reflecting the damage to the ACC.
Whatever.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Not only 4-4, but lost to the #1 and #2 teams in their division, lost to the team that won the other division, and DNP the #2 and #2 teams in the other division. Their four victories came against teams with a combined B1G record of 7-25.
This is why people hate year end "winner take all" type affairs. These will become more common as the NCAA post season tournament grows.

Put that way, I way understated my case.Last edited by WM Wolverine; December 3, 2012, 02:13 PM.

7-25. Wow. Didn't realize. Also didn't realize the value of a good offensive line coach.
Once again I say that there should be one week of crossover play. # 1 in the Bo division playing # 1 in the Woody. # 7 plays # 7. Unless NW and Wisc start having schedules that are roughly as difficult as UM and Ohio, there has to be some other way of determining the conference rep in the Rose Bowl ($ 36 million total payout this year).

The reason I asked about the rivalry is that I get sick of 4-4 teams, or Louisville or NIU getting in the prime bowls. I'd love to see the winners of The Game and Alabama-Auburn cut their own deal for a showdown of the winners. The conferences would go along with another big payday. Play it on Christmas Day. Call it the Labor Union Bowl (Birmingham was a steel center).
And as far as rivals go, MSU will always be little brother. Why play them every year? It helps their recruiting, but not ours. OSU has one rivalry game and so does MSU. Michigan has 3. Strength of schedule is a bad thing in the new world order. I want to play cupcakes until OSU, but then I want that GAME to really count. That's what made the 10 year war such a Golden Age for both schools.
I know it's crazy, but it would outdraw FSU-NIU at least 3-1 on TV.
