Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season
Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

It's obvious this is a stepping stone to 16. I fully expect the SEC to add two teams before the B1G does. You had to start somewhere...I was just hoping it was something better than Maryland & Rutgers. I'm looking at this from purely a football standpoint. Obviously the decision was based on more than that.Shut the fuck up Donny!

Depending on who those additions are, I'd almost rather have that if it increases the likelihood that we will return to geographic divisions so that some semblance of identity can be preserved. 16 isn't much worse than 14. At 14, the conference is already dead.Last edited by Hannibal; November 19, 2012, 08:28 PM.

Maryland is a bad team with ugly uniforms. But historically speaking they are at least as good as Purdue in both sports. And are a much better road trip, IMO. And if they open up only a 1/3 of the B'more & DC markets, they will be worth it. Good recruiting territory too.
I'm less sold on Rutgers but willing to give em a chance. They've made huge strides in the past decade. 10 years ago they were drawing under 20,000 a game in a decrepit stadium.

Before Kansas politics went nutty, I could have seen them as a possibility as Team #15 or #16. However, one has to question how much biological research (especially with stem cells) that the legislature is going allow them to do.
Assuming no Notre Dame....Virginia and North Carolina would be solid additions.2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR
