  • I tend to think once Michigan responds to the NOA, the NCAA will hand down its judgment about 30 seconds later.

What I do know is that we'll be well into the 2024 season before M responds to the NOA and well into 2025 before this is settled. I've read that once the NCAA receives a response to a NOA they move at glacial speeds in deciding an outcome. I've heard predictions in the neighborhood of "sometime in 2027." I've also read the B10 injected itself in punishments involving burger-gate and may do so again in the sign stealing stuff to speed accountability.
You needed to have trusted my insight first, old man.

      • UNC vs Minnesota tonight at 8pm EST on FOX.
No idea what to expect, but it’s a prime-time game between two power conference teams. If you count the ACC as that…. No Drake Maye for UNC. The pressure is on PJ Fleck to rebound. Hopefully they have a QB that isn’t reminiscent of Uncle Rico. Their Greek QB last season, woof. He was awful.

I miss the days of ~2010-2018 when Bill Connelly would release his massive team breakdowns over the summer. Being able to read up about most teams with his informative articles. A well organized understanding of recruiting and how teams should look based on returning players. It’s a new era of college football and I’m uninformed about 99.99% of other team players. Weird feeling to not know anything about these games to start the season.

Ohio State should be awesome. I do know that. Would have bet on them to win the title before their odds ballooned in the spring. Spooky defense.

They're out of excuses. The NCAA is watching Michigan like a hawk, hoping they can add more punishments, so Michigan should not be a road block. Only Oregon poses a threat to them in the conference, and JawJa is the only other threat nationally. As Ric Flair says, "If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best". If they can't win it all this year, they've got to blame the guy in the mirror.

          • Yeah, with new CFP format, there's no way Ohio State is able to duck Georgia. If they could, that'd be awesome.

The game in Eugene will be really hard. That's a legit team. Happy Valley is always hard. And, well, CRD can't beat M. So, 9-3 seems about right.

              • 9-3?? That would be a A+ season for Bama this year. Things are much worse in Tuscaloosa. We hired our version of Bryan Harsin. Gaudy west coast record brought to the SEC as a sacrificial lamb.

                            • Correct. I’ve heard it’s either a Level 2 or 3 violation. He got out a little bit over his skis.

It’s also perfectly legal for other teams to steal your signals and pass them around to your opponents. But Stalions’ drinking buddy taking shaky cell phone footage 100 yards away is what REALLY tilted the game in our favor.

                              • The Houston Astros example is almost the perfect comparison. I don't think a single person here defended them when that scandal broke and everyone understood that what they were doing was way and well beyond normal sign stealing.
