  • I think this will likely be settled in some steak house in Chicago (that also has an appropriate vegan menu for those who indulge) where a "We didn't have this meeting" meeting will take place, and Michigan will formally surrender to the NCAA and accept the "appropriate punishment" that the NCAA will hand down. After all, the Michigan name has been sullied long enough, and the only way to mend fences, is to accept the authority of the NCAA.

Michigan isn't going to fight this. Just like Jamal Crawford, and the Ed Martin matter, they'll ultimately serve whatever "hammer" the NCAA hits them with. Shoot, the school is still punishing itself for the Ed Martin thing. The Fab 5 banners are still tucked away, never to be seen again.

Such cowards. I love the team, but I sometimes hate the institution that they are named after. Gutless cowards.

    • Vegan Steak House? That's like saying 1997 National Champ Michigan...it is just utterly preposterous...

          • But Chicago isn't the Chicago we used to know. Somewhere in Chicago there now has to be a steak house that has a vegan portion on the menu.

Think of the politics there now ... and tell me it can't be true ...

              • That's still on my bucket list, Wiz.

I'll have to park close to the stadium and pay a premium price for parking, but I'd still like to do it.

                • In the new Netflix documentary "Sign Stealer," former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions tells NCAA investigators he never partook in advanced in-person scouting and didn't purchase tickets for others to attend games of the Wolverines' future opponents.

Stalions' attorney, Brad Beckworth of Austin, Texas, interjects during the NCAA interview, claiming that Stalions' personal information was illegally breached, which led to the NCAA probe of Michigan.

"If that's true, it's certainly a violation of civil law and it's maybe a bigger crime," Beckworth tells the NCAA investigators. "And if it's true that came from somebody associated with or tied to The Ohio State University -- and we think it was -- that's where if I was going to try to do right I might be focusing." When an NCAA investigator declines to provide how information about Stalions was obtained, Beckworth ends the interview.

Water under the bridge. We should all just move on.

                  • "One, I've never advance scouted," he said in the documentary. "Two, if this was about signals, I obtain signals the way every other team does, through watching TV copies and talking to other intel guys from other teams. What set me apart was the way in which I organized that information and processed it on game day."
Persecuted for being good at his job! Hasn’t this man suffered enough? Have the NCAA and Big Ten Conference no shame?!

                    • An NCAA investigator asks Stalions whether he was the man standing in Central Michigan's bench area, wearing team-issued gear and sunglasses, for the 2023 season opener at Michigan State, which took place the night before Michigan's first game in Ann Arbor. Stalions replies that he didn't recall attending a specific game, although Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy says in the documentary that Stalions admitted to him being on the Central Michigan sideline. Central Michigan has told ESPN it continues to cooperate with the ongoing NCAA investigation.

When Stalions brazenly lies like this, you know the corruption runs deep and he's covering for somebody "big".

Oh and the guy that's rumored to have gotten Stalions onto the CMU sideline in disguise is ex-Michigan Man Jake Kostner. There's stuff online saying CMU has fired him but he's still on their staff directory so I dunno.

                      • Heresay and innuendo! We need to allow the process to play out and for CMU to get their house in order. To date, they have been unable to identify the man some claim to be Stalions on their sideline. Don’t rush to judgement.

Also remember that CMU's HC Jim McElwain is a former Harbaugh assistant. He could have given Stallions sideline access. McElwain has since denied any connection to Stallions, but hey, everybody is lying in all this, so he may as well join the party.

I love the outright audacity of Stallions. "I didn't break any NCAA rules, ... I took advantage of them"

Priceless. That young man should still be on Michigan's payroll. His actions equalized CFB for Michigan.

                            • And even if McElwain gave a sideline pass to Stallions at MSU, what rule was broken? There are no pictures of Stallions using his phone or any other device to record anything. He was standing there, in a bad disguise, watching the game. What would have been the difference had Stallions bought a ticket and watched the game from the stands?

This is all so disgustingly petty. But, of course, the NCAA is on its power trip so they'll make a big deal out of it.
