Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

        • Try this for "relevance" ......... Michigan fans don't care about the performative allegations from the NCAA involving Harbaugh or the football program.

          • Bad news for Dave Winfield. According to a leaked draft memo obtained by ESPN, Major League Baseball plans to suspend him for the entire 2025 season.

And that’s fine, but throwing out “the SEC made him do it so it doesn’t count” talk is ridiculous.

And in keeping with the theme of the day, the Green Bay Packers have announced that Aaron Rodgers locker has been permanently removed from the Packer's clubhouse.

                • I would prefer M to cheat more to be honest. Not enough over the years. Winning is what matters in the end. Such as re-watching highlights of the Bama beat down the other day was highly satisfying.

                    • Well, it may not have been a beatdown, but one great team beat another great team, with a great effort.

The star power of the Alabama roster spoke for itself. This was not a routine win over the likes of Delaware State.

And a whole lot of people out there believe Nick Saban was a better coach than Jim Harbaugh. I think its safe to say that Saban certainly had a lot more great games than Harbaugh did.

                        • The link below is from an unedited version of a segment in a book, soon to be released, titled, "The Price: What It Takes to Win in College Football's Era of Chaos." It's not an easy read, at least for me. There's a lot of misuse of pronouns that makes it difficult to follow whom is saying what to whom. Uncharacteristically, it's not the usual hit piece on M football from the Freep. It does identify the singular point that sealed Jim Harbaugh's decision to leave the job of HC of M's football team to seek a HC job in the NFL. No one should have any doubt that baring the crap from the NCAA and B10 regarding impermissible contact with recruits (the cheeseburger saga and that did happen) and the Conner Stallion sign stealing allegations (trying to link Harbaugh to Stallions - still no proof), and the unrelenting targeting of Harbaugh by the NCAA intended to get him out of CFB, Harbaugh would have been on M's sideline this fall.

That point came in a late night phone call to Tom Mars, JH's attorney, from Timothy G. Lynch, a Michigan vice president and its general counsel. What Lynch was seeking from Harbaugh was consent to withdraw the law-suit against the B10 seeking a temporary injunction on what was viewed by Mars, and up until this point, by legal counsel for Michigan, the illegal suspension of JH by the B10 for the last three games of the 2023 season. Lynch was direct with Mars, "get his consent or we will rain down hell on Jim Harbaugh and Michigan football." So, around 1:15am Mars called Harbaugh and, obviously under pressure, got his reluctant consent.

Despite what looked like solid support for Harbaugh from President Ono and intent to pursue a Temporary Injunction against the B10, preventing them from levying and enforcing the three game suspension on JH, M through Harbaugh under the bus and withdrew the law suit. This is why Jim Harbaugh is no longer the head football coach at M and instead is back in the NFL as the HC of the Chargers. The implication that Jim would probably have stayed in Ann Arbor instead of bolting for the NFL if M had pursued legal action against the B10 and further prevented the NCAA from taking action against him is pretty clear in the words of the author.

What positive that did come out of all this was that it galvanized and focused the players and coaches to achieve the goal of winning the NC and in the process sending a big fuck you to the B10 and the NCAA. For elements within Michigan administration, and I'd include Ward Manuel and President Ono, the signaling that the NCAA is a farce in issuing the 4y Show Cause BS and needs to die a quick death continues with JH being named the honorary Captain for M's opening game v. Ferris state.

                          • Thanks for posting that Jeff.

The Michigan athletic department and the President have let the fans down again. Harbaugh had said over the years that he'd found his home in Ann Arbor, and wanted to finish his coaching career there. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that U-M abandoned him when he needed them most.

                              Exaggerating.

I thought M was going to lose that game for the entire 4th quarter until that 4th down conversion happened. Then there was hope.
