While that might be true, whodean, I'd rather things remain civil. As much as I hate osu and nearly all that it stands for, Talent and DSL probably are otherwise pretty level-headed guys. I don't hold their buckeye-leanings against them, it's probably due to some "nature-vs.-nurture' thing they experienced as infants, something that is well beyond their control (just like with the monkeys in that youtube video someone posted in that thread earlier today) . From the accounts I've read posted by others that have met one or the other of them (or both, maybe), Talent and DSL are probably otherwise considered quite "normal', by most peoples standards...

Good idea, Dennis, except for one thing: we moderators are "forced" to see every post in any thread we open, as we are unable to use the "bozo filter" button to block anyone. Sure, I can skip over individual posts or sing "LAA-LAA-LAA-LAA" to the top of my lungs in an effort to not "hear" what is being said in each post, but we have no "bozo" filter available for our own use.

Options we do have include such things as using the so-called "ban-hammer" and locking threads, among other things. And I'd rather not use those "tools" on tools.

Bozo filter works good if you're not a mod. Mod's see everything, and users can't block mods.

I haven't seen the posts in question yet, but we have always tried to keep this forum a cut above others of the same type. I'll weigh in after I've had a chance to peruse things a bit ..

Its fairly typical off-season crapola. I see no reason to shut the thread down, but I think some folks (they know who they are) need to dial it back a bit. And, they know why.

I don't expect to be allowed to play by the same rules as everybody else, but every once in a while there should be allowed some retaliation other than politely listening to insult after insult and one unsubstantiated charge after another.

Oh and putting people on ignore is gutless. I'm glad moderators aren't able to do it.

I've never been quite sure what to make of that band (Talking Heads). I've always kind of liked their music and found their videos interesting but hard to figure out. I even have one of their albums (on actual vinyl, believe it or not), but or some reason, after giving it a few spins many many years ago, it's been collecting dust pretty much for a couple of decades.

I have no idea about two things:

1. Why anyone is feeling that thread got uncivil. It's just a bit of sass. If you want to talk about uncalled for incivility, ban Stan. The Kentucky Kousins aren't all that bright, but they're not offensive either.

2. Agreed on the Talking Heads. Been called the funkiest white people ever, and I guess I see that, but I have no idea what to do with them other than recognize it as good and also as something I'm not interested in.

The Talking Heads are one of my favorite bands from that era....Late 70's to mid 80's. Great songs, great musicians.....I still listen to them quite a bit.

As far as the "uncivility", that thread seems to be fine to me......other than the slack-jawed, ambulance chaser using "retard".
