The Forum has been moved to the new server at our new host. I think we lost a couple of new posts from earlier this morning during the move (maybe only in the UofM forum), I'm sorry for that.
It may be a few days before all of the DNS stuff gets sync'd up throughout the internet.#birdsarentreal

Folks on the west coast of FL from Fort Meyers to Tampa will be dealing with Hurricane Milton as it makes landfall Wednesday evening to Thursday morning. Max winds will be at or near 125mph (CAT 3, boarderline 4). Storm surge up to 12 feet will inundate coastal communities and flooding to spread as far inland as 20 miles. Milton will slice across central FL from Tampa to Orlando with the storm to continue to have low end Hurricane winds that typically take power down.
SE FL has a marginal risk for Miami - Dade and Broward counties (I live in Broward Co.). We're well out of the prediction cone for landfall and even if the wind-field expands, as it is predicted to do, winds will not reach tropical storm levels > 40kts. Some power outages will occur but probably not where I live. FPL has spent a lot of money over the last decade to harden it's electrical generating and distribution systems. It takes in 100mph wind range to knock out power around here and I'm 7 miles inland so, well protected. Same goes for flooding.
Our property will experience maximum winds of 35kts and the surrounding Pompano/Fort Lauderdale area will get a ton of rain over the period Monday to Thursday of up to 10" in places. Street and urban flooding WILL happen. It's a pain in the ass but way less of the catastrophe than is heaping on residents of the west coast of FL just having dealt with Hurricane HeleneMission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

I used to live in Kissimmee, (1983-87) which is next door to The Mouse. I always dreaded the thought of a Cat 4-5 coming in thru Tampa and hitting us directly. I still have a lot of friends in that area. That whole Tampa Bay area is going to get smacked."in order to lead America you must love America"
