Well, clearly, he is a complete ass (and this is on topic) but I want to provide a counter point.
Generally, when you post on an internet forum of any kind you better be able to defend a position and not get all butt hurt when you can't. You put up shit and someone calls you on it that's the price you pay for putting it up. You're gonna get humbled.
Now if talent's capacity to humble any number of posters here now and again because their facts are wrong, their argument is stupid or in that post there are any number of cracks to be exploited, learn to not make stupid, exploitable posts.
Maybe that is running the forum but if it means the elimination of factually incorrect, stupid, indefensible or illogical posts, I'm all for it.
As I have said many times, in a dual, talent tends to aim his pistol right between his opponent's eye balls. Gentlemen fire quickly and first so as to bring the ball as close to the opponent's ear as possible making it painfully obvious that I could kill you ..... if I chose to.
I was not aware that this was a "duelling" forum. About the only thing I know about that activity is the best move is almost always to never get into one . If there so happens to be a nut job in your neighborhood that's trying to bait you into one then the best course of action is to avoid the psycho and call the cops- or, better yet, place your trust into someone else to kick their ass.
And yeah, you should avoid the stupid illogical posts. This ain't Facebook.
Two are the number of last bastions of toughness in America: high seas, football, and firing guns into wate -- no! THREE! THREE are the number of the last bastions of toughness in America...
Who? What? Please don't co-opt the name of the J Ira and Nikki Harris Family University of Michigan Football Coach to refer to your husband/partner/whatever. That's just wrong, dude.
FTR, Paul L did not come to me about the problems we were having earlier, which led to me pinning threads. It was someone else.
I reviewed the situation, and thought that the person made some valid points, so I went to the other mods for their opinions.
Not all the mods agreed with my decision to pin threads, but I still felt it was a good idea so I decided to try it.
I almost had to laugh at the one comment (maybe by Hack?) that I ease up on moderating posts. One of the longest continuing complaints that I get via PM is that I don't moderate ENOUGH. One even suggested that I grow a set of testicles and eliminate the ohio fans completely, and throw their thread out behind them.
I'll try and walk the fine line and hope we don't lose any more M fans.
To be clear, you're not the only one. Sure. All I know is that never once in my life have I ran crying to a moderator. Wouldn't even have occurred to me. I am an adult, and this is a community. Moderators are for serious problems, not for attempting to silence people who make their points without spamming or excessive insults. Moderators should not be nannies. If you need a nanny you shouldn't be on a sports forum. Save for this one, which is a weird cross between the two worlds. But, if you're in any way interested in backing your own bullshit then ban Paul. There's no reason not to delay.
Well are you gonna enforce the rules then? Paul flaunts them and seems to relish it whether he's needlessly insulting a Michigan fan or someone else. It's even worse than that period when you banned politics and then brought up politics regularly for a few weeks.
(No offense, Paul. I don't actually want you banned. Linesman just deserves some blowback for this autocratic silliness.)
That's a bit too fatalistic, but there is something there. Truth is that this has devolved into a forum that Talent is directing and nobody besides Buchanan can keep up with. Yeah, it's a public forum and it always comes back to being "on topic" but that's beside the point. It's just not as much fun being in conversations that are dominated by two parties and one of them is obsessed with undermining everything that is brought into discussion. People haven't bailed because they're too busy or because of occasionally juvenile exchanges. They've left because Talent is such an ass.
Could you provide a list of all the good posters who quit posting here specifically because Talent (and I) are allowed to speak?
Sean and Doug left because they don't have the time or interest to devote here anymore. OP packed up Jamie H in a crate and sent him off to Abu Dhabi. I believe we may have just lost another M fan this week because they didn't appreciate the heavy-handedness of deleting and moving posts.
Everyone's leaving because of talent? Yeah I'm sure no one's ever been turned off by hack and OP's ongoing catfight in every thread. Or Paul and Stan trying to cram every obscenity they can think of into a single post.
I'm sure Michigan sucking for years has generally tampered fan interest and kept new members from joining as well.
