So, in the Admin Thread, it's OK to go off topic to talk about kicking vaginas and such?
I'm good with the rules and I'll enforce them.
Keep on topic.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
Of course it's not, but that doesn't make vagina kicking speaical or differeint -- as far as I can tell nothing else is OK either. But do keep in mind that I AM on topic, as we're here in the Forum Administration thread. Better place than any other to talk about the rules, innit? I just worry that this place has been as prickly as it is without Michigan even competitive in rivalry games. Once those really ramp up how're the lot of you gonna handle that without killing off what activity is left? I think it's something to think about.
Agreed .... and rest assured your post is safe from the dreaded delete button being pressed.

You should post like it, in particular given linesman's itchy trigger finger.
My trigger finger is in retirement.
I've resigned myself to the fact that this is no longer a Michigan forum. It is a group of Michigan folks who speak at the permission of ohio fans. Everything written must pass their inspection and approval, or there's a price to pay.
I've tried to keep this forum as a place for Michigan fans to come in and talk about U-M sports topics, without interference from outside influences.
I obviously failed.
Therefore, I'll be just an occasional participant, and allow the ohio folks here to run the place as they see fit.
That should solve all the problems here very nicely.

I'll leave the above post in place, but I'll revise my comments a bit this morning.
1. I'm not leaving the forum. I am staying in my current role.
2. I apologize to M fans that may have been offended by my remarks about the forum being run by the ohio contingent. It seems that way sometimes, when any positive observation or comment I make about Michigan Football has been subjected to derision by them, but I guess that's what they do best. Without banning them totally I guess we have to accept that they'll always do what they do. As a Mod, I can't use the "ignore" feature, so I'll just have to deal with it.
3. I apologize to M fans who believe I'm too heavy handed in the way I've moderated the forum. As I've visited other Michigan sites, I've seen hosts/Mods who are way more tyrannical than I am, and I've even been banned from a MICHIGAN forum because of how I posted about ohio and their fans. And if you want tyrannical treatment, be a M fan and go visit some ohio or MSU sites. But, I digress. I'll try to be nicer.
4. I apologize to any M fan that I've "run off" due to the way I moderate the forum. If any of you are looking in but not posting, I wish you'd have spoken to me before packing up and leaving. I'd like to know when its something that I've done that has made you leave. I can't change something that I'm unaware of. Talk to me. You can PM me on here, or email me at lineygoblue@gmail.com
Thanks and have a pleasant day.

The only thing you should apologize for is catering, in any way, to Paul. He's the person that started this particular round of menstruating several weeks ago. As per usual, he personally attacked me. I told him to STFU in no uncertain terms. He almost certainly ran like a schoolgirl to you. You spent a week making "urgent" "need to talk" posts to the other Mods. You then issued the latest set of rules. I followed the rules and he posted in here again with a direct personal attack which I never brook. And again he cried like a girl.
The thing is, he contributes NOTHING to this forum. As a "poster" he is total dogshit AND a bitch. Pretty much as awful as you can get. If it were Buchanan or WM or Geezer or Hack or OP or Hannibal (you know, the 6 or so posters who actually post with frequency), then their complaints ought to carry weight. His? Good lord.

I think if you look closely enough you'll find the two heathens here doing their best to get along. Talent's got his pretend-surrender thing going, and deserves credit for that for example. Talent also ought to heed his line that he's here primarily for a fruitful exchange of information. That'll help.
Again, if this whole thing is a problem NOW, just imagine what it's going to be like when there's actual games in which Michigan is competitive and smack talk flows. Just me personally, but a forum in which linesman and WM and Jeff and Hannibal and Geezer and Mackenzie et al discuss things holds absolutely no interest. All good guys with valid things I'd like to read, but any forum is interesting when there's a meaningful diversity of opinion. I'd like to see the moderators make an effort to strike a balance between decorum and vitality, and I'd like to see them stop judging posters' behavior based solely on their allegiance. Again, it's easy to see, now that Michigan fans will have something to crow about soon, what a challenge that'll be to the culture of this forum. It's a small enough group already. Too small.
And another thing -- if you're going to moderate like a divine ruler than at least tolerate a few jokes now and again from your subjects. It's the least you can do, and a lot better than turning yourself into a victim. Most of us here have encouraged you to back off with the iron fist and you ignore that, so the victim stuff falls flat IMO. Just let a joke or two about it go past now and again. Nothing wrong with that. It's still quite clearly your forum to moderate (to death).
I'm fairly certain that the bulk of my posts are part of an actual discussion. Whether it's on M Football, OSU, The Wire or, at the moment, the best M RBs of all-time.
Further, the majority of my sass is wrapped largely in factual jabs. I rarely say anything personal and don't typically needle with the mundane.
I'm happy to play nice in the designated threads. Presumably Paul was angered because I noted that the RB from NC didn't choose M. Everyone knew he wasn't picking M. I knew it was Syracuse. But, OP apparently felt it was M. I posted that he didn't pick M. If that ain't on topic...

Dude. This is the rhythm of the forum. Off-season. Off-topic. Increased sass. RULES!!! Martyr. Settle. Sass up. RULES!!!! Martyr. Summer ball!!! Yay!
It ain't no surprise when the f'n swallows return to Capistrano. Now, if they detoured to Flint, that would be worth an observation.

I think you by and large are right in the last post on the previous page but I think it bears watching. There will be some serious tension here in late November. If I were to bet on it today, my guess is that you and DSL don't make it through that period, deservedly so or otherwise.

Meh. I was here and posting without significant incident back when M was good. That includes the 2004 Troy Smith coming out party, the 2005 Lloyd Punts from the OSU 35 game, the 2006 showdown and the 2007 dismally raining, block no-one zone read hand-off to Hart. I doubt things are going to get any more amped up than 2006. Further, there's a massive variable in the equation and it isn't OSU. An 8-3 M team...eh. You guys will be all HARBAUGH! and stuff, but it'll be tempered. If M is 11-0, then you guys will will be off the charts. I'm not seeing 11-0 (or 10-1), but perhaps I'm underselling Jake Rudock.
