If I knew that by banning Talent, I could regain 10-15 of the Michigan fans who used to post here, I'd ban him right now. I'd love to have those people back, and it would be worth every "harumph" I'd have to endure, to have those people back.

Unfortunately, I don't think its that simple.

I'm even at the point to where if the forum agrees that I am the problem, that I will step aside, if it means that the forum will regain some of those who have left.

My vote would be to start editing every single one of their posts. Entertainment for those who still read them, annoyance for them.

It takes a special kind of asshole to hang out at the rival forum. Mess with them all you want.

Look, talent only turns to Mr. Nasty when something gets under his skin. There are several here that are good at it.

He has a view of osu football that is fact/evidence based. He's an attorney for Christ sake. I'd say the preponderance of this fact/evidence based information supports the view that osu runs a clean program. But were not in a court room here.

This is a Michigan forum of ideas and world views about sports in general and particularly about football. Opinion, by-in-large, is not shaped by facts and evidence or the law. Maybe it's truth is enhanced by such things but the sports world, in fact most of the world, doesn't operate like that. If it did OJ would have been convicted among many other such events whose outcomes were less shaped by objective facts and evidence than by the subjective appearance of things ......

Speaking of which, the circumstantial evidence and the conclusions that COULD be drawn from both available facts and rumors surrounding osu's football program, in my view, overwhelmingly support the opinion that it is dirty, it cheats to win and when given a level playing field that the NCAA ought to produce through enforcement, but doesn't, their football team would not look anywhere near as dominant as it appears to look.

I'll give credit where it is do. tressel was a very good football coach, he got great play out of his players but he was a liar and a hypocrite with respect to his religious views. I can't respect that and it taints his and osu's accomplishments. I see the same sort of character flaws in um even though it is clear he is a very good football coach .... and this is for you strange, Adolf Hitler was a terrific orator but that doesn't overcome his actual legacy; and on a less grand scale of fuck-ups, Joe Paterno was also a good football coach but his PSU legacy is in the gutter. It just has to suck to be German, even nearly 70 years later, a PSU or, indeed, an osu fan.

But that's just my opinion and, after all, what would one expect.

..... and, BTW, only fools officially banish folks that they don't like to hear, read or look at what they are saying, writing or producing as art, theater or music.

You seem like a good person. That said, the "I'll quit if that's what you guys want" routine is lame in a passive aggressive sort of way. Act like you've got a pair, realize you will NEVER maker everyone happy, and tell the unhappy ones you're doing the best job as you see fit. It's ok to listen to feedback but give the quitting speech a rest.

As always, that's my opinion, I could be wrong.

That's not what has been said to me. I have spoken with folks via e-mail and in person, who told me that they were tired of insults and childish behaviors exhibited by the contingent from ohio.

I've always held the line at not banning people due to content.

I'm at the point now where I regret taking that stand.

Ignore the Ohio discussion if you're easily offended by subtle jabs at M. If someone here doesn't want to read what a few people say, don't go to the Ohio discussion and if you do, it's fair game to laugh at the people of Ohio, press their buttons and generally piss off Ohio fans....

As long as it's limited to one discussion, I have no issue the Ohio fans having a silly playground here so we can make fun of them.
