Rob is still around, but he's in a similar situation as Sean B and Doug. He's a very busy man and doesn't spend a lot of time on the computer anymore. Some of us were banned but came back anyway. (Another blast from the past Spartaninhouston. He used to always predict near perfect seasons for MSU. Now that MSU is accomplishing that, he's nowhere to be found)Comment

My initial thought about these changes was that it was solution without a problem. It turns out the mods just wanted to keep a handful of threads on topic. No biggie.

Threads too often get off topic and end up fitting better elsewhere, a lot of the time its our regular Buckeye poster taking shots at M (mostly deservingly).
Even though this poster is generally accurate albeit confrontational, some people here don't want to read that. They come here to talk M sports with fellow M fans, not get their favorite sports program get bashed by a rival fan...
This is why we have the rules the way they are, I've had a few members (some time ago) private message me about leaving because of similar issues with various members here (not just the Buckeye poster). At least one of these didn't return after my private messages with him. With any online forum, you need thick skin. People take pride in their opinions and will defend them a bit too passionately and respond too harshly, personally when their opinions are challenged...
The obvious Buckeye poster I'm referring to adds a lot to this forum when he's cordial and adds a lot even when he's not so cordial . Unfortunately he also crosses the line every so often and other forums I formerly participated in would've given him the boot some time ago, which I'm certainly not for.Comment

Healthy debate and disagreement is great. However sometimes instead of good debate, these disagreements turn into pot shots, name calling and personal attacks...
The former is great, the latter has little place in a forum.Comment
