  • Yeah, the oLIEo dipshits cannot be allowed to pollute threads legitimate M fans post in.

Now liney and the mods are not keeping those guys from posting, they just move the offending posts to the OSU thread. Of course, if the oLIEo guys want to stay on topic, then their posts won't be touched.

I think its a great idea, it just keeps things like talent and his poodle from polluting the recruiting thread from happening.

    • The obliviousness of that post sums up whodean's posting to a tee.

      • Did something actually happen? Is anyone on double-secret probation?

LOL @ Jeff using the phrase ``butt-hurt''.

              • Absolutely the best discussion ever on the Forum Administration thread.

I think it should be made clear that what is really hate speech should be taken down immediately by the mods. I participated in intercollegiate debate, and our coach usually had us, at some point, say about the other side's argument "MY GAWD, SUCH IGNORANCE"; throwing our hands in the air. Let's not become so politically correct that being called an "ignorant, clueless moron" or whatever is somehow banned. I enjoy this forum more than any other that I visit, mainly because we know each other a bit, and because we can disagree, and we can entertain.

For example, about a month ago I ran onto a joke that had a woman bitching out a man for not giving up drinking beer, and telling him that over a lifetime he could save enough to buy a Ferrari. The guy says "where is your Ferrari". I put Talents name in place of "the guy" and posted it. Not on topic, but I liked it, Talent gave it a "Heh" and I suspect others either smiled or shook their heads at my senility. If someone didn't like the post, let them say so. I can take it.

Talent is the MVP here in that he used to be able to say "Cordell Jones has won more National Championships than Jim Harbaugh" and then wait for the shit to fly. Folks, that's fun. No one should be offended by that. If you are, toughen up.

                • Where can I type Michigans sucks? I don't want to violate any rules typing Michigan sucks. So if someone can point to me where I can type Michigan sucks I'll post Michigan sucks on the correct board. Thanks for helping find the location for Michigan sucks in advance.

                      • Like others, I've been aware of the erosion of participation in the forum in recent years. I wish someone had kept a list of all the posters over the many years. There we're some brilliant ones and also some real characters. And some pretty influential spokespersons for some of our rivals, esp. some Spartan fans. And interestingly there were several female posters who knew their football. I know some left because of hurt feelings and the mods have done an excellent job recently in toning down personal outbursts. For example, I think of Jamie H, once an obsessive contributor here who got into a showdown with another member and left although I don't recall the details. He was sure a passionate fan and poster.

This is the quiet time of course but I visit every day, mainly to get updates on Harbaugh and recruiting. The forum has kept up my interest in M football more than any other activity I can think of.

Another factor that has reinforced this forum has been the wonderful tailgates put on by Doug Dillon. I guess he's too busy to post these days but for those who have yet to experience the great social event on Scio Church road before and after a game it really solidifies friendships of an otherwise diverse group of football fanatics.

And finally this forum would have died years ago if not for the superb leadership provided by "Linesman", aka lineygoblue, more recently augmented by our other moderators.

                        • Well, here's some names of people we've lost for one reason or another over the years.

                          Jamie H
                          Tim Prost
                          Matt Prost
                          Blue In Wisconsin
                          Ben Jeremy
Timmy - (the originator of the Worldcrossing site)
                          Skylar Townhouse
Marlin Spike - aka Sean B
                          Dillonpgp (Doug)

We had the unfortunate and untimely death of Jerry Bouldin. Never got to meet the man.

We haven't heard from Charles Hardway for many years now.

Some opposing team fans who used to be regulars

                          Mojospartan, Steve Harper, Sparty On!

We also had the unfortunate loss of Clashmore Mike.

For the ohio folks we had Regelbuck, Paul S and "Heater".

I'm sure I'm leaving some names out due to forgetfulness

                            • I know, in Sean's case, he's not posting here because it is a time drain and he has other demands on his time. I know Doug is in a similar situation.

I don't think everyone departed because of something that happened here. They left because of legitimate reasons having to do with how they spend their time. Sure, some did get tired of whatever. They made a choice. Fine.

                              We'll be fine.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                              • I know OP left because he was tired of being placed on Talent's blocked list. Also Jamie H. Threatened to send his Dad over to kick OP's ass?!?

OP is a lover not a fighter and feared for his safety.
