I'm not debating this here. We have a process.

If a moderator removes a post(s) {in this case a Moderator closed a thread} the reason for the removal(s) will be posted with the removal notice that appears in the thread (in this case the reason was posted in the Forum Admin Thread .......

(a poster) .... can certify a question by PM to any moderator about that action {in this case closing the thread}. Do not complain about the action or attempt to make your case in the forum/threads. Moderators shall do their best to address the question within 72h. At the end of 72h the majority opinion of the moderators responding will be the answer.

Mods, let me know by PM, you've got 71h. Other's if you want to debate this, send me a PM, I'll be glad to hear why you feel the thread should remain open.

I'll say this ....... I spent the better part of my life dealing with the deaths of people around me while I was in the Marine Corps. The healthiest way to get over a traumatic event, in this case one that is not anywhere near as meaningful as a loss of life but nevertheless, for some, a very emotional loss to osu, is to get by it and move on.

You can go on and on if we had just done this, if we had just done that, he'd still be with us. It prolongs the agony. It is not cathartic. It is wallowing in your won sorrow ..... a pitty party.

There's a certain amount of leadership I'm taking on here in this Forum and that is to get beyond the whining about the loss. It's a fucking football game!

We have a process to resolve these kinds of disputes. A lot of thought went into it. Support the process and let it play out.

Your opinion. Not everyone's. Just IMO, but the role of the moderator is too keep things civil and according to the rules, and nothing more.

I think there are still things outstanding to discuss anyways. I'd like to know what the process is for choosing refs, for example. I asked in the thread and you closed it before anyone could answer. We have some folks who probably know.

UKBB has suggested we might want to create a Political Thread that is separate from the Miscellaneous and Off Topic Thread.

This may be a good idea. Not sure about clear boundaries for posts and spill-over though. Not that easy to define what is political and what is not.
