    Snyder runs his program based on 16 goals, fairly simple concepts such as "Responsibility," "Expect to Win," "Eliminate Mistakes" and so on. Another is "No Self-Limitations," a creed that tends to build up players into more than others once expected from them.

    It's from there that a team of often lightly recruited or overlooked players is capable of laying woodshed beatings on the powers of the Big 12, capable of rolling into the Appalachians and scoring on its first eight possessions against the nation's 13th-ranked team while harassing former Heisman favorite Geno Smith into four sacks, two interceptions and a week (at least) of nightmares.

    This wasn't just some upset (although the odds said so). This was a mismatch.
    "No self-limitations," Snyder said. "There shouldn't be for me, there shouldn't be for any of our players. However you may or may not have been today, tomorrow there isn't any reason you can't be better. That's just what we do."

    Everyone wants to know how Snyder does it. How he does what no one else has ever done. How he gets K-State to climb this high.

    "You talk about the 16 goals," he said. "I believe our players embrace those values, and that's true to what they are. They are the same values that you teach your son or your daughter. It's not rocket science. It's just things I believe personally, and I think our players do, that allow people to become successful whether its life, business, community."

      Top 12 teams in turnover margin: a combined 79-4.

      Nebraska is 110th, in the bottom 10 teams in the nation. 18 turnovers, 9 recoveries.

      Of those bottom 10 teams, we are the ONLY team with a winning record.

      Of the 29 teams with the lowest turnover margins, only 4 have a winning record.

          Is still ranked in the top 20.

          They've lost 2 straight games--by 41 at home, and by 35 on the road.

          Their last 4 games they've given up 63, 45, 45 and 55 points. 208 points in its conference games, 52 points a game in the last 4. They beat Baylor by 7 and Texas by 3.

          Their other games are wins, all at home, against James Madison, Marshall and Maryland.

          The average score of their 7 games is 41-40. Yes, they are giving up 40 points per game on D. Yet, still ranked in the top 20.

          • Texas is still ranked in the top 25.

            They lost at home to West Virginia, and at a neutral site to Oklahoma.

            In their last 4 games, they've given up: 36, 48, 63 and 50. 197 points. 49.3 points per game given in the last 4 games. They beat OKST by 5 when the refs refused to allow a fumble at the goal line to count, and beat Baylor by 6 in Austin.

            They also gave up 31 points to Ole Miss.

            That is not a top 25 football team.

              • Texas gets the benefit of the doubt. M, Neb, OSU all have benefitted from this, being ranked higher than they should be due to bias.

                          • Because they were a 12 point underdog. I actually thought OU would give the Domers a good shit-kicking. I guess ND is officially for real.

                            • I thought ND had a chance to beat them as OU was overrated once again...and ND is solid on defense. I didn't think ND would win as handily as they did in Norman though.

                              OU = Fraud

                              B12 = Overrated

                              Kansas State = only great team in B12 (which is one more than the B1G I guess)

                              • Fair.

                                Obviously my view today is colored by what happened in Lincoln last night but, man, I'm disturbed by the state of affairs in CFB as it relates to the Big Ten.

                                The SEC and parts of the PAC 10, are in the driver's seat with respect to recruiting. Few teams are going to be able to run Pro-Style offenses and simply blow opponents off the field because of huge talent advantages. Because of the recruiting disadvantages facing the Big Ten and most of the remnants of the Big 12, Michigan won't be one of those teams.

                                Perhaps, and based on what I've seen out of Hokeorges and ufm, osu has a nice combination of offensive style of play and talent to play with the elites of the SEC/PAC 10. M does not and I see MSU and Wisky being on the margins of the national scene along with Michigan. This is the sort of situation I think Martin was trying to overcome with the RR hire and, obviously, that didn't work out. Too bad.

                                While M got a break landing Mattison, the offense still has to score points. Borges has managed an offense that has not scored a TD in two games despite having one of the most prolific QBs in CFB history. That to me is a sign of failure and a stubborn unwillingness to play to the strengths of his offensive players. Talk about a coaching screw-up. You have one, in spades, at M.

                                And, I don't want to hear wait until Hokeorges get THEIR QB (ostensibly Morris). I don't think the Pro-Style offense they want to run will be dominant on the national scene because the talent the team needs to run it is going to go elsewhere. Tell me what future NFL QB (and thier handlers) want Al Borges to coach their kid? Elite RBs? Fred Jackson? Elite WRS? Give me a break.

                                Frankly the Rodriguez hire took the program in the right direction, albeit he was the wrong guy. I also can't say that Martin had a clue of this when he made the hire. Nonetheless and if he did, he had the right idea.

                                Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
