                • Big win for UCLA. Sorry to the Big Red boys.

I wonder if Jim Mora Jr. is actually turning them around.

                    • No kidding. Are there reasons some of you who know the CFB better can cite for why UCLA hasn't been an elite football program in forever?

Bad coaching hires is all I can say

They have every advantage that USC has and a safer, prettier campus to boot.

The administration may care more about hoops, but that'd be only a guess.

Puzzling to say the least why they can't compete with SC (as long as I have been alive).

                            • Only era where UCLA was an annual power was the 1950's. And I believe it later turned out they had been cheating.

Not to digress, but if folks like CFB history or scandals, read up on the former Pacific Coast Conference in the 50's. They rivaled the SEC or SWC at their worst in terms of cheating and the entire conference imploded as one program after another ratted each other out.

Back to topic: UCLA was pretty solid in the 80's, but not consistently Top 10 caliber, under Terry Donahue.

Were you born in the late 90's? UCLA won 8 years in a row vs. USC in the 90's. It all changed when (3rd or 4th choice) Sneaky Pete came to town.
