    • Do you really think they'd stay in a cobbled-up Big 12?

      • I saw reports on some Rivals or Scout site saying The Big12 may seriously consider inviting SMU or Houston. I can't see how or why Oklahoma would stick around for that.

        • OU has followed Texas for years. They might stay, especially if it meant a one game season and connections to texas recruiting

              • What a shame... Talented kid...

he Arkansas Razorbacks, No. 11 in SN's preseason Top 25, could have their championship hopes significantly damaged before the season even starts. Running back Knile Davis left Thursday's practice on a cart and was unable to put pressure on his left leg after injuring it during a scrimmage. ArkansasSports360.com was the first to report the injury.

The severity of the injury is not known. Offensive coordinator Garrick McGee told reporters after practice that it was team policy that only head coach Bobby Petrino discuss injury news. Petrino isn't scheduled to talk with the media until after Saturday's practice.

Davis, a junior, helped bring balance to the Razorbacks' pass-happy offense last season. He finished his sophomore season with 1,322 rushing yards (6.5 per carry) with 13 touchdowns. He also had 19 catches for 136 yards and a touchdown.

                • I would think Florida State or Clemson would be ahead of VT on the SEC's shopping list of ACC teams. If VT were the SEC's top choice, it would be very difficult for VT to make that move. I wouldn't rule out the SEC going after a couple of Big East programs-- WVU or Louisville would fit well in many respects-- but if I had to bet on the next program to make the jump to the SEC, it would be Florida State, with Clemson as a close second choice.

                  • This is a most welcome development for collegiate sports. Michigan's most recent football APR was 928, though, so the Wolverines have some work to do to ensure compliance with the new standard. Michigan can't afford heavy attrition or many academic washouts during this coaching transition. Men's basketball scored a 970, and hockey scored 988, so they should be fine.

                    • Yeah, Florida State and Clemson make a lot of sense. It would make FSU v Gators a conference game that may also decide a CCG berth, along with So Carolina v Clemson.

                      • Any valuable program in the Big 12 should jump asap. If this is true, the dominoes that fall next are going to be very interesting; who does the SEC target/land for spot #14? Another Big 12 program? If so, that conference will be officially dead; all the decent programs left (Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, etc.) will be scrambling to find new conferences and the leftovers will probably find a home in the MWC...

If the SEC targets an ACC school for #14; does the ACC add 1 Big East program to replace who they lost or do they add 3 more to give them 14. Does the B10 get involved and look at ACC programs?

                        • The Texas fanbase appears to be living in a fantasty dreamworld. Nebraska, Colorado, and Texas A&M all leave and they insist it's because they can't handle Texas being so awesome. The Big12 is stronger without them, especially after they pick up a couple new teams like BYU and Louisville and Houston.

                          Fantasy.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                            • This is why no one program could ever have its own network and have that network be prosperous.

                              • I believe OU is going to stay with Texas and the Big12 will make an offer to either Houston, Louisville or BYU and remain at 10.
