Anybody who saw Georgia escape Georgia Tech should have known better.

The thing to know about college football with unlimited transfers, NIL and direct payments is this:

1. Players want to get to the league, that means they want snaps. If you can't provide them they will go elsewhere.
2. Players like money.
3. It pays for quarterbacks to stay in college. Good college quarterbacks who are fringe NFL prospects are likely to stay and help out some team that doesn't normally get those players.

Also, as far as QBs go, they can make more money transferring for a couple mil than being a 5th round pick and hoping to still be on an NFL roster in 3 years. Taking a bunch of cash now and trying to improve your stock is the smart move. Speaking of which, was it mentioned that Carson Beck is in the portal and leaving Georgia? He's a perfect example.

I don't know why people tune into those national talking heads. If you're Nick Saban I'm interested in what you have to say but the shock-jocks for sports is just mind-numbingly stupid. I heard an update from some national talking head on 97.1 while driving yesterday talking about Drew Allar. This guy said tons of NFL scouts were ascending on the Orange Bowl (duh) to watch Drew Allar, (who had already announced he's returning, btw) and said he could probably be talked into entering the draft this year because he'd be A TOP 3 OVERALL PICK. I almost drove into a ditch. How do people get paid money for this hot take bullshit?

They don't want it, they didn't create it. The Supreme Court created it. College football administrators would have happily had the old system. The old system was illegal

Correct...CFB didn't create it...meaning the schools and conferences and the NCAA especially did not want this...it was morphed due to litigation...correct.

The NCAA and stakeholders of CFB were asleep at the wheel. Rather than try to make a sensible system, they were content to be passengers on a rudderless ship. It's why I have no problem with the Big Ten and SEC forging their own path. They will end up remaking CFB and the rest of the have-nots will have to fall in line or go find something else to do.
