IU was a flash in the pan with a big mouthed coach having to eat some crow. While I liked the attitude he instilled in the Hoosiers, a decent turnaround for a historically basement dwelling BT team, he overplayed his braggadocio and with just guys instead of playmakers and getting thoroughly outcoached, IU got bitch slapped by ND.

PSU is predictably ass-railing SMU 31-3. They are the second of the IU/SMU pair that wrongly displaced SEC teams (Bama and Missou) that were clearly better CFB teams. It's up the CFB Committee to understand how that happened and correct it. 16 CFB playoff teams?Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

I actually think it should be less playoff teams. There are not 12 or 16 teams deserving enough to be the national champion. There was a time when two losses would never get a sniff of any championship and now we have three loss teams in the discussion.3,062 carries, 15,269 yards, 5.0 yards/carry, 99 TD

Good point. Regardless, it's pretty clear to me that CFB is lost in the forest right now and the NCAA isn't going to figure out how to emerge. There is the making of an NFL style CFB organization as two super conferences are emerging. Fore the playoff figure out how many CFB playoff games will fit into academic schedules then drop back from there and divide each of these into divisions. Win your division and you auto advance in a play-off, get a first round bye and home field. The rest of the playoff teams advance to the playoff as wildcards based on records to fill out the available slots in the playoffs.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. Man, Ohio State came out as if they were on a mission, but the Vols seemed to have weathered the storm.
Should be a good second half.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

To, again, highlight the stupidity of the automatic byes, the CFP bracket played out exactly to seed and these are the early odds for the Quarterfinals:
#5 Texas -13'
#6 Penn State -10'
#2 Georgia -1'
#1 Oregon +1'
The only thing that makes me smile just a little bit is that Oregon got absolutely screwed. And, I guess, the possibility of James Franklin shitting away a dream path to the semifinals.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Ohio State played that game the way they should have played against Michigan. That was probably closer to what the score should have been. They definitely looked like they are on a mission. I'll argue that of the four winners yesterday, Ohio State looks the toughest of the group.
And I agree that Oregon got screwed. They don't get a home game, and now they have to basically go on the road and play the toughest of the 4 winners.
I think Notre Dame is in big trouble against Georgia. Again, another situation where you can say, "Congrats on beating Indiana, now go play Georgia". Doesn't sound like a huge reward to me.
Penn State likely got the easiest road of the 4 winners yesterday, now having to play Boise in the Sugar. The Nits should handle them.
The only questionable matchup I see is Texas v Arizona State. The Sun Devils have been hard to pigeon hole this year. Just when it looks like they've met their match, they play another tough game. That might be the one where the best possibility of an upset happens. Devils over Texas? hmmm.
But some of the matchups were real head scratchers. But it had Warde Manuel's hands all over it, so its not surprising. He'd rather see one of the best college football coaches in the country move on, rather than stand firm behind him after just winning a Natty.

Notre Dame and Georgia are both really not great on offense.
IMO, the 3 "best" teams in CFB are Oregon, OSU and Texas. I think Georgia, Penn State and ND are next and roughly comparable. But, in terms of talent and ceiling, I think the first 3 are the best. And, of course, they're on the same side of the bracket.
And, yes...Texas is gonna fuck up Arizona State.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

The Ferris State Bulldogs won their third national title in 4 years yesterday defeating Valdosta State 49-14.
Shiawassee County native Tony Annese has now won 3 national titles at Ferris, and one JUCO national title while at Grand Rapids JC.
