Yeah. Michigan State really needs to take notes of how virginal you guys are.

                    • 1. Georgia 11-0
                      2. Ohio State 11-0
                      3. Michigan 11-0
                      4. Washington 11-0
                      5. Florida State 11-0
                      6. Oregon 10-1
                      7. Texas 10-1
                      8. Alabama 10-1
                      9. Missouri 9-2
                      10. Louisville 10-1
                      11. Penn State 9-2
                      12. Ole Miss 9-2
These are the Top 12 as established by the playoff committee. If the 12 team playoff was in place, and started today, these would be the matchups, if all 12 played in the first round:

                      Ole Miss at Georgia
                      Penn State at Ohio State
                      Louisville at Michigan
                      Missouri at Washington
                      Alabama at Florida State
                      Texas at Oregon

                      --

I might tune in for a couple of those.

                      • That's not quite how it works. The top 4 seeds get a first round bye and the bottom 8 play at campus sites (4 games). Then once the quarterfinal field is set, they'll incorporate the major bowls. I can't remember if there is a spot reserved for the highest ranked G5 team like in the current format but based on the current rankings alone, you'd have:

                        Ole Miss @ FSU
                        PSU @ Oregon
                        Louisville @ Texas
                        Missouri @ Bama

I wonder if they'll try to avoid conference matchups in the first round like they do in hockey. In that case they'd probably flip Missouri and Louisville.

                        • Yeah, after I posted that I remembered that there are 'byes' involved in there. I couldn't remember if it was the top two or top four.

Still, not bad matchups if it were in effect today.
