          Pffft ......

I don't think OSU's D is going to shut down Martinez and the Neb offense. They'll score. But as usual, OSU O will score more, probably a lot more. Something like 49-21 final sounds about right with 1/2 of those points for OSU coming in the second half. Nebraska will score 14 points in the first half and 7 in garbage time. OSU will be up 28-14 at the half ......... everyone watching on TV switches to another game before the end of the 3rd.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

          • 44-20. I think your assessment is about right. Moral victory #7. Onto the Moral Victory Bowl...or Perhaps the Turning The Corner Bowl...or perhaps the Stay The Course Bowl...

                    • Michigan State at Ohio State will be huge. And if the Bucknuts win out and Michigan wins out, The Game will be right behind it.

                      • Penn State is pretty good despite losing to the Illini and Iowa when their starting QB was injured.

Yep, I think M's chances of winning that game with the inability of McNamara to hit downfield targets when he absolutely has to (see mgo's lead piece "Technical Flyover." that I posted about in the MSU/M post game thread) is questionable.

Fancy stats (not the be all, end all predictor of outcomes) will have a win probability later this week. Before the M loss to MSU, they were very slight favorites to beat PSU in HV. I'm reading this isn't going to be a night game which is a good thing for M's chances. I still like them.

I think the M coaching staff knows what the Technical Flyover piece fleshed out: McNamara has to make some deep throws that facilitate TDs and Gattis has to be resourceful enough in his play calling to to find way to get TD instead of FGs from inside the RZ. Failing that, M cannot compete with PSU or OSU within the BT and because of that, is not in contention for the CFP.

Both Michigan and OSU can't win out. They play each other and one has to lose. i.e. . Michigan.

                            • Liney,

I’m saying win out through Nov 20th. That’s why I said “”The Game” will be right behind it.” I was talking about two crucial back-to-back high stress games if Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan avoid getting tripped up by the games against lesser opponents between now and then.

“Win out” was a poor choice of words, but I assumed when I said “”The Game” will be right behind it” what I was saying was obvious.

                              • Oh .. I thought your reference to The Game was Bama v Auburn.

                                My bad.

Michigan v OSU hasn't been a 'game' in years. Decades, even.
