Notre Dame is once again getting a game well into the 4th. Vandy actually looks better than them at the moment.

ODU 35, Virginia Tech 28, midway through the fourth quarter in Norfolk. VT has lost its starting QB for the rest of the game, and has gotten torched through the air by ODU's backup QB. Every time ODU has needed VT to make a mistake to keep them in it, VT has obliged, and the 0-3 Monarchs are on the verge of the biggest win in their history.Last edited by JRB; September 22, 2018, 05:50 PM.

ODU 49, VT 35. Blake LaRussa of ODU threw for 495 yards against the VT secondary that Hokie fans were afraid would show up week one against Florida State. VT's coaching staff said repeatedly going into this game that VT hadn't practiced well for two weeks, but this may have been the single worst performance by a VT team in 40 years. VT's had some very bad losses in what turned out to be pretty good seasons, but with the injury to Josh Jackson added to it, this one might be a season killer for them.

That was the biggest point-spread upset of a ranked ACC team by an FBS opponent in 40 years. Conference USA teams had lost their last 52 games against ranked non-conference opponents until today. This is a young VT team, especially defensively, and this is the first time under Justin Fuente that VT has gotten embarrassed. It will be interesting (at least to me) to see if they can recover from a loss like this.Last edited by JRB; September 22, 2018, 06:52 PM.
