Florida State expects Jimbo Fisher to take Texas A&M job


The Associated Press reports one source familiar with the situation has indicated that Florida State expects Fisher to take the Texas A&M job if formally offered. That doubles down on previous reporting from multiple outlets that Florida State officials began vetting candidates to replace Fisher at the beginning of the week, including Oregon coach Willie Taggart.

But, there's no way he can win in the SEC. Don't get me wrong -- he's a great offensive coach, but I don't think his game translates all that well to the SEC. That said, anything that gets him a bigger spotlight is fine by me, and Knoxvegas actually is slightly more primetime than Pullman.

Chryst was born & raised in Madison, played at Wisconsin, coached under Alvarez & Bielema, and is in a conference division where his program is the dominant force and presents a pretty clear path to the CCG each year.

Not saying some team couldn't step in with a godfather offer, but that's probably what you're talking about to get him away from his hometown team.

Yeah Wisconsin is a good situation, you have a lot of advantages there. Their last 25 years stacks up favorably with most of these open positions.
