I think what Tennessee needs right now, more than anything, is good ol' fashioned competence. They need to get themselves UP to being a consistent 8-4 team. Schiano will do that, IMO. If they want to swing for the fences after a series of 7-9 win seasons leave them disappointed, then so be it. But right now that program is entirely rotted. It needs a complete rebuild. I think it may be roughly the same job he had to do at Rutgers give the relative difference in competition.

Jones was 9-4 the last two seasons before this one and nobody seemed happy. And it didn’t seem to have much to do with the off the field stuff but around the fact that they weren’t winning more/bigger and that not a lot of people liked Jones. Or do I have that story wrong?Comment
