  • If your only expectations are to compete for the national title, it's really hard to get COY awards. Only place to go is down, while if coach X was expected to win 6 games and wins 10 games, he's deserving of COY!

    • When the Coaches of the Year hold their annual reunion at the Schaumburg, IL Olive Garden, I'm sure Brady Hoke, Ron Turner, Ron Zook, and John L Smith let Kirk Ferentz sit at the head of the table. He's sort of the Grandmaster of their fraternity.

I say the CFP will be 8 teams no later than January 2018.
Hopefully so...the results of this committee thing thus far haven't been real promising. In part, IMO, because they still using poll-mentality. If they think tOSU should be in the playoff instead of Sparty for instance, despite the head-to-head loss, then vote it that way.

There is no way they could leave the B1G champ at home who won H2H. The only way they could get the Buckeyes in, is if both got in.

              • They could imo sent OSU, it just would've taken a Sparty OOC loss.

                • HARBAUGH!! isn't graduating most of his starters, Hoke thankfully had 2 good recruiting classes ('12 & '13.)

                  • Yeah. We were almost at that exact scenario in the SEC. If it weren't for Arky's miraculous win at Ole Miss then they play in SECCG and have a win AT Bama. But they lost to Memphis. Who would have gone?

Fortunately, UAT shits unicorns when it comes to this stuff, so of course the blind lateral 14 yards from the first down was going to take a perfect one hop to Arky's fastest player.

I don't think so. Likewise, without Arkansas, making that 4th and 25, Bama would not have gotten the nod for the CFP over conference champ Ole Miss (who beat us H2H), and the Rebels had no shot at getting in.

It is going to be tough to take any team that hasn't won their conference. I'm no saying it is right or wrong but they've made that a big deal.

                          • I think UAT would have made it ahead of Ole Miss.

                            • Well sure. But I don't think either would make it. SEC SHUT OUT! Read all about it!
