  • Cal pulls to within 21-16. They are dominating statistically but settled for 3 RZ FGs and Stanford took a kick back for a TD.

    • It'll be obscured by our shit the bed performance but the SEC East had some miserable performances yesterday. South Carolina lost to The Citadel...Georgia got taken to OT by Georgia Southern and Florida went to OT against sorry Florida Atlantic. Consider that Kentucky & Vandy almost always suck...and Missouri, South Carolina, and (if Richt gets fired) Georgia all have coaching hires to make...and the SEC East is looking like it'll be dominated by the West for years to come.

      • The SEC West has a team that is about to do something as silly as the 49ers did last year.

Firing Les Miles after one bad year won't fix anything, because nothing is really broken at LSU. But, they'll probably do it anyway.

        • Well that's true enough...LSU may be about to set their program back

And both Auburn & Arkansas could be only one more mediocre season from completely blowing up their coaching staffs yet again.

            • If LSU fires Les Miles, it will be one of the biggest mistakes they can make.

He won't be unemployed long. I wouldn't be shocked to see 1-2 Big Ten teams reach out to him if he becomes available.

              • Does anyone at LSU realize that Les Miles has a better win percentage than Saban did while at LSU? Firing him would be the most bone head move you could ever think of. If they do this, they deserve to sink into a 10 year funk as they desperately hunt for a new head coach about ever 3-4 years.

Les Miles: .775 Win Percentage at LSU
Nick Saban: .750 Win Percentage at LSU

                • From the perspective of LSU's Governing Board, this is the worst time to fire Miles.

Multiple coaching vacancies with not nearly enough high end coaches available to fill them.

....... and to think, it was merely 7 years ago that LSU opened their check book in a huge way to keep Les from going to M.

TBH, Miles is a QB and an OC away from having a pretty good team. Cam Cameron is going to lose his job and that's probably the right thing to do. Firing Miles would be massively stupid and nothing more than a knee jerk reaction

                  • When Saban left a mediocre MSU program for a mediocre LSU program we viewed it as a weird lateral move. I certainly didn't see that type of renaissance they and the SEC had. There was no indication of it, LSU can go back to being a bad program.

                    • Here's the BT TV slate for this weekend:

Iowa at Nebraska – 3:30pm, ABC (Fri.)
Indiana at Purdue – Noon, BTN
Maryland at Rutgers – Noon, BTN
Ohio State at Michigan – Noon, ABC
Northwestern at Illinois – 3:30pm, ESPNU (at Chicago)
Penn State at Michigan State – 3:30pm, ESPN
Wisconsin at Minnesota – 3:30pm, BTN

PS, you don't want Neb to beat Iowa. If they do and ND beats Stanford, the Domers are going to get a seat at the table. Of course, that assumes Iowa takes care of MSU in Indy and there's no certainty there at all but one step at a time. I also think if MSU beats PSU and does win in Indy and ND beats Stanford that the committee won't put a one loss ND in over a one loss BT Champion ...... so many options. It's been a fun football season with M being actually good again and all that!

                        • PSU? In your House? Dantonio v. Franklin?

I get the caution but this is as much a sure bet as there is. MSU should open a 17 point favorite.

                            Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                            • With Cook they should win. Without, frankly I can see a close game. They won't be able to run up the gut like they did against OSU. Luckily you have them at home otherwise I could see very possibly, an upset.

                              • MSU will blow PSU away. It's at home for a shot at the conference championship and the playoffs. I think PSU is the most overrated team in the BIG. Hackenburg stands there like a log set in concrete and his accuracy is way off. UM held PSU to six yards rushing in the second half.PSU had 207 yards and over 90 of those yards were on two plays.
