I agree with both of the above. IMO, HARBAUGH!! combines the best of the old school mentality with the modern day realities of P5 football. An extraordinarily high football IQ doesn't hurt either.

    • I never really bought the old school part Mike.

Jim Harbaugh ran Power in the NFL against, the highest paid brightest minds in the Pros, running the most sophisticated systems. Won 70% of his games, 3 NFC title games plus a Super Bowl (which many say the 49ers actually won) in only 4 years. The overwhelming evidence suggests JH is simply one of the best coaches on the plant and certainly the very best among amateur coaches in the college ranks.

      • Another Lloyd fault was that he stuck by poor coordinators too long. This got worst the longer he stayed. '97 was wonderful, and I'll always like Lloyd for it, but even I was grumbling about the loss of talent and the bonehead style. A change was needed, but boy we really didn't know what we were getting into when he finally hung it up.

        • Lloyd surrounded himself with some very mediocre assistant coaches and then kept underperforming coaches on staff far too long. We really wasted 2003-2007. A HARBAUGH!!-type staff would have probably won a national title and 2-3 Big Tens in that stretch. Those teams were loaded with NFL talent.

          • From the Tulsa World

The best way for the college football movers and shakers to gain real bargaining power over ESPN and other television networks is for the best of the Power 5 conferences to congeal into four, 16-team superconferences. The leagues and schools would hold all the cards in the board room and could name their own price for the rights to broadcast their games.
Bring it on. Best thing that could happen. and no bullshit rivalry games.

                • They got away with it. Blatant PI in the endzone on 2nd and 3rd downs. Florida escapes Florida atlantic in OT.

                  • Sort of a disappointment to not see Cook in there. I guess MSU can try to just keep it close.

                    • Why is that a disappointment again?

                      • I like to see a competitive game. This is going to get ugly.

                        • I feel bad for any injured player but I have absolutely no sympathy for Dantonio or MSU.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                          • ...and you want them to lose to set up next week. I can see that.

I had no doubt OSU would win this game with or without Cook.

                              Agreed.

They've done enough since Dantonio/Narduzzi arrived to not warrant any type of sympathy, ever again.

                                Tally up the touchdown. sheesh
