  • What I saw from the first half was that the FSU rapist, er QB, should have never EVER been nominated for, much less won, the Heisman. Every time he looked to the sidelines for the play, he had that classic deer in the headlights look. Except for the last drive of the game, he showed nothing special at all. And he's the best player in college football? He's not even the best QB. Hell, I'd take Braxton Miller in a NY second over Winston.

    • Wow, let's not get crazy. The rapist threw some pretty nice passes in the first half that were dropped. I agree he looked confused and out of his element but he played very well in the 2nd half. Not too shabby for a redshirt freshman who turned 20 yesterday. Hopefully he will not rape people going forward.

        • The rapist looked slow. He was trying to please his woman by not shooting the gun too quick...

Nah Eddie, it is probably from your years of training in the Hitler Youth movement.

Last week, OSU came to South Beach to have dinner at the Texas De Brazil Churrascaria at the marina.

I saw all these black youths getting off the team bus not but 100 feet from my slip and I instinctively locked up all the silverware as a precautionary measure.

            • Winston beat up a very weak ACC/OOC schedule, just like Bridgewater did to the Big East, er American Conference. B10 defenses are better imo but Braxton did much of the same in the B10... Aaron Murray & Manziel are much better QB's than those three.

              • Bobby Petrino interviews at L'ville
                By Brett McMurphy
                ESPN

Current Western Kentucky and former Louisville coach Bobby Petrino interviewed Tuesday with Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich for the head-coaching job at the school, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason, Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi and Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris also are among the six individuals who interviewed for the job, a source said.
Current Louisville offensive coordinator Shawn Watson and defensive coordinator Vance Bedford interviewed as well, according to a source.

Bobby Petrino got his start as a head coach at Louisville, going 41-9 in four seasons. Petrino is one of three finalists to replace Charlie Strong, a source told McMurphy. The other two finalists are unknown, a source said.
An announcement on Strong's successor could come as early as Thursday morning, when the University of Louisville Athletic Association is scheduled to meet to review Jurich's recommendation for the position. The AD has promised to move quickly on the hire but said he wanted a coach who was the right fit and committed to the school for the long term.
Colorado State's Jim McElwain, who did not interview, initially was a candidate for the position. However, a source said McElwain was not pursued because of Jurich's respect and admiration for CSU AD Jack Graham and the Rams' program. Jurich was athletic director at Colorado State for four years before coming to Louisville in 1997.
Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio spoke to reporters Tuesday night about the possibility of losing Narduzzi to another school.
"When you're successful, everybody's going to have opportunities," Dantonio said. "When there are good opportunities for your guys, you want the best for them, so whatever's going to be best for him as we go through this. But, it's a win-win situation."
Petrino, 52, got his start as a head coach at Louisville, leading the Cardinals from 2003 to 2006 before leaving for a brief stint as coach of the Atlanta Falcons. He returned to the college ranks with Arkansas in 2008 but was fired in April 2012 for a "pattern of misleading behavior" following an accident in which the coach was injured while riding a motorcycle with his mistress, a former Razorbacks volleyball player.
In the wake of the scandal, he signed a four-year deal with Western Kentucky in December 2012. The deal had a base annual salary of $850,000 and includes a $1.2 million repayment to the school if he terminates it at any time.
Petrino had a 41-9 record at Louisville, leading the Cardinals to a 12-1 mark and their first BCS bowl victory in the Orange Bowl in 2006.
He is 83-30 overall as a college head coach, including an 8-4 mark this past season with the Hilltoppers.
Strong, who guided the Cardinals to a 12-1 record this season, was introduced as Texas' coach Monday.

Bobby Petrino...I'd love to have heard that interview...

"So. You want your job back."
                  "Yeah. I miss the place."
"Louisville is a nice town. We'd like to keep it that way."
                  "What do you mean?"
"Um, you had an issue with a volleyball player at Arky U..."
"She has a 35" vertical leap. She wanted to hump all the time. What else could I have done? It was a youthful indescretion."
"We're looking for a long term hire, not someone who can't stay focused on football."
"Well, it doesn't look like Pelini is going anywhere at UNL. That's the only other place with quality volleyballers."
"Don't call us, we'll call you."

                  • Longtime booster Red McCombs is not a fan of Texas' decision to hire coach Charlie Strong away from Louisville, calling it a "kick in the face" during a radio interview Monday.

"I think the whole thing is a bit sideways," McCombs said of the selection process during an interview with ESPN 1250 San Antonio. "I don't have any doubt that Charlie is a fine coach. I think he would make a great position coach, maybe a coordinator.

"But I don't believe [he belongs at] what should be one of the three most powerful university programs in the world right now at UT-Austin. I don't think it adds up."

McCombs, the former owner of the San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Vikings and co-founder of Clear Channel Communications, said on "The Blitz with Dat Nguyen and Jason Minnix" that he was stunned to learn Strong was the choice to replace Mack Brown.

He publicly lobbied last week for Texas to hire former NFL coach and ESPN analyst Jon Gruden.

"I think it is a kick in the face," McCombs said. "Beyond the fact of what actually happened. We have boosters that have a lot of knowledge about the game. When we decided to go get Mack -- from the time we decided to go get Mack to about 30 hours later to have a press conference here and it was done -- we had a lot of input before we went after him.

"So I don't know what the big rush was. I was kind of pleased that [Texas athletic director Steve] Patterson already said that he'd like to get it done in the middle of January. That seemed logical to me. I'm a team player, but I think they went about it wrong and made the selection wrong."

Texas named its McCombs School of Business after the benefactor, and he has a statue inside Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. McCombs has donated more than $100 million to UT and is a close friend to Brown.

McCombs said he was certain Patterson couldn't go wrong on the hire during an interview with the San Antonio Express-News last week.

"I don't see how they can miss," McCombs told the paper. "They can get anyone they want. They can close their eyes and go 'Eeny-meeny-miny-moe' and end up with someone good."
