        • I think the SEC, Big 12, ACC, and Pac-12 are definitely better than the B10 this season.
The bottom of the American Athletic and other "crappy conferences" may be better than the bottom of the B10 conference, which includes Purdue and Illinois.

If you put Ohio State in the SEC, they would be Mississippi State or Vanderbilt.

          • and sparty at 51, but beating them will be construed as something impressive and worthy of a NCG appearance.

            Auburn's SOS at 4, Bama at 5.

Pays to play in a shit conference/OOC opponents.

Bullshit. Mississippi State nearly lost, at home, to Bowling Green. Vanderbilt played nobody and actually ran away from genuine competition; they crapped out of games against both Ohio State and Northwestern.

You say Illinois would be at the bottom of the American Conference? Uh, they beat the living shit out of Cincinnati, one of the best teams in that conf

That's just one random site on the net. Sagarin is actually used in the BCS and he says our SOS has actually been slightly better than Florida State.

Wouldn't say that. The sec would love to sneak in with an upset.

                  • ACC is awful, FSU has benefited just as much as Ohio from beating up a lousy conference.

                    • As long as there is no sec team in the championship game I will watch.

                      • Last Thursday, I was listening to Bill King discussing NCG possibilities with an odd's maker in Vegas who was doing pics for last weekend's games and taking phone calls from fans.

The conclusion of them both was that there is no way a one loss team makes it to the MNC. They were talking about Auburn. If osu beats Sparty next weekend and FSU beats Duke, those two teams are "mortal locks" to play in Pasadena in 2014.

Now, both of these guys acknowledged that if CFB were using a committee to pick the MNC teams and FSU's QB Jameis Winston was charged and suspended before selections, a one loss team might get picked over an undefeated. Committees tend to do stuff like this. I doubt that the BCS will be improved with a committee making selections to a four team play-off format. Not looking forward to 2015.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                        • Michigan, at least, is not in 4-8 Florida's shoes (maybe some think they should be or would be nice if they were) ......

Florida fired their Offensive coordinator Bret Pease and Line coach Tim Davis today. I'm somewhat surprised Muschamp didn't get the ax too. I think the firings came from above him so, he had to be sweating it. They are a sorry team.

                          • It will probably come down to how competitve a game everyone wants. When you give a one-legged QB turnover-machine 450 yds passing and 4 TD passes, it tends to diminish you in the eyes of the voters. Let's hope Sparty makes it a moot point.

                            • We get trashed every time we win by less than 3 TD's. But Auburn has played a bunch of close games this year, some to mediocre teams. Unless you guys suddenly think Ole Miss, Miss State, and Washington State are impressive teams. Auburn beat none of them by more than a TD and all three games were at home. Washington State outgained Auburn. They needed freak plays to beat Georgia (riddled with injuries) and Alabama (both games also played at home).

They played two tough road games and lost one by 14 and won the other (A&M) by 4. The other two road games were to a horrendous Arkansas team (who was beaten by Rutgers) and Tennessee (brutally raped by Oregon)

                              • In all 3 polls OSU is a decisive #2. Hard to see that changing barring unless Auburn wins by 50 and OSU beats MSU by 1 or something like that. And as much as people say the SEC will get the benefit of the doubt, I think there's also a healthy contingent of voters, including coaches (I'm looking at you, Stoops!) that is fucking sick of the SEC bullshit.

Computer-wise, I don't see much changing. OSU and Auburn will be close this week and MAYBE Auburn passes OSU next, but that will not be enough to make up for the voters.
