Nope. But has anyone? Nobody does that. That said, is there a Guinness Book of Wiz records now? I'd buy that. We need some new toilet reading for the downstairs bathroom.

Maybe I missed it but I haven't seen any of the principals at mgoblog shit on Franklin . He gets constantly hammered on mgoboards by mostly unknowing imbeciles who, you are correct, were making excuses for the ass-railing M got at HV this season.

Here's the thing. Yes, Franklin has a decent resume but I attach more of his success at PSU this season with Joe Moorehead who figured out how to optimize the combo of Barkley and McSorely.

I also think that those two featured players WERE PSU's offense, it was a big play offense or bust and I think if I went back and looked at this season I could back that up. Was that Franklin calling the shots or was it Moorehead? In 2018, without Moorehead taking a high risk approach to PSU's offense, Franklin will be much more conservative and won't have the OL or the run game to make that work. JMO.

Anyway, osu and MSU (aong with the WX) shut down Barkley which, IMO, affected McSorely's throwing it down field for jump ball, big plays..... didn't happen..... neither Moorehead or Franklin had an answer for that. I'd call PSU's offense a two trick pony.

I'll admit my characterization of Franklin as a dilbert has a lot to do with how I feel about PSU in general and Joe Paterno in particular. Is what it is and so Franklin gets caught up in circumstances which can lead to judgments about him that are unfair. His cross to bare.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

I'm gonna change my ways the next few days or so. It's gonna be tough, but I am not gonna insult or be mean spirited or any of that stuff. Maybe this positive karma will get Bama in the cfp so Bama can get a chance at revenge.

                  • Huge Badger fan this weekend, and not just because they're playing OSU.

                    • Why doesn't Venables get more attention as a HC candidate for these top jobs? Seems like a great pedigree, a great recruiter that's learned at the feet of some elite HCs. Is it just that these teams are looking for somebody with HC experience?

                        • I think Brian and the mgoblog staff aren't Franklin fans. Brian goes on and on and on about the "sad field goal" last year.

Next year will tell us more.

                          • Seems like the M football fanbase could use to diversify thought leadership. The way some hang on this guy's every word is just kind of weird.

Other college football fandoms seem to have more varied information/opinion sources.

                            • I don't know if that's true or not, though it does strike me that the volume of quality OSU coverage is greater. Talent, your thoughts?

This year I've liked the maizenbrew takeaways better than the mgoblog ones, certainly. Who else are people reading?

                              • Brian's pissed off more than just a few by viewing his own takes as unassailable. Still, his UFR work is better than I've seen anywhere else in the Michigan blog world.

I find MaizenBrew post football game takes too superficial. Their write-ups on all M sports though are decent and not as intentionally flowery as Brian's.

Seth may be the best writer at mgoblog. His previews, when he does them, are very good as are his Fe-Fi-Fo-Film pieces. He also does breakdowns of plays that are very helpful in understanding them.

The only pieces in The Ozone that I read are Michigan Monday. I don't think anyone does anything comparable to Brian's detailed UFRs anywhere but I've also not done a lot of searching of other CFB team web sites.
